It's worth buying a ticket to visit inside the tower. The walk across with the glass floor is awesome.
The video narrating the history from people that worked there is very interesting as are the video on the walkway showing other ideas they considered for the bridge.

One of the most iconic bridges in the UK! It’s so majestic and beautiful that it’s difficult to talk your eyes off it.

The bridge is walkable and gives you great views of the Thames river, of the Tower of London, and of the Shard.

The tower even opens up from the middle for the ships to pass - it’s a wonderful sight to behold.

You can buy tickets to walk up the tower that holds the bridge for even wider views.

The walk by the river, under the bridge, is very comforting. You will find small stalls selling snacks and also restaurants and pubs with a view of the bridge.

You have plenty of space to sit there, click pictures, have a picnic and what not.
