Not many places I would give 5 stars, but this is one of the gems in Hendon, London. The coffee is a dream, strong yet deliciously brewed at the perfect temperature. Strong and nutty flavoured. When you are on holiday, one would think that you would like to try as much variety as possible, but we ended up having our breakfast 3 days straight at Carpe Diem.
We love the ciabata ham and cheese due not only to their flavoursome filling but also the crunch of the ciabata (a must try). We also had, on one occasion, the scrambled eggs with bacon, which was also made to our liking.
Finally, seldom do I see such excellent service and PR from cafe owners but their attentiveness, always smiling and taking the time to make small talk (to someone who has just walked into their cafe for the first time) makes eating there a joy.
There's outside seating as well as in- cafe seating and a definite recommendation for anyone wanting some coffee and warm food there.

Went to this coffee shop for lunch with a family member and was pleasantly, surprised by the warm and friendly service and good quality meals especially the baked potatoes and reasonably priced menu. And nice clean  coffee shop. Also their coffee is great. We will definitely go there again.

Up there as one of the best cups of coffee I have ever had, if not, the best.Friendly service. Little pleasures such as freshly made Turkish coffee. Clean, efficient and knowledgeable. Excellent location.

Traveling from New York and stoping for a nice coffee, warm feeling and delicious sandwich at Carpe Diem was the best decision of my trip. Highly recommend to stop by for this beautiful atmosphere and great Hospitality from the staff of Carpe Diem
