The Latymer School is very decent up to year 10 only and only for nuerotypical pupils (the norm). The school focuses on the norm to up their league table level. Not so for a very bright but (non-severe) nuerodivergent person, the school staff are very ill educated or equipped to accommodate this.
The situation got much much worse during years 11 and 12 (2020 Covid year). This school would not co-operate with us, the parents. For example, from year 9 our son had a problem with the maths teacher who clearly couldn't understand his condition and kept blaming him For various issues. We acted with utmost respect, understanding and cooperation were we can. We kept begging the school to move our son with a different maths teacher group but this school repeatedly refused to listen to our evidence. One teacher publicly denied the specialist reports.
Our son had a major struggle through GCSEs yet he achieved very good, almost top grades.
We provided the school with further specialist evidence off his condition which the school acknowledged and expressed that they wish to help but they did nothing to help our son.
Although A levels are different and teacher support is paramount. Not with the school though and particularly during year 12 (2020 Covid year). Again for example the school kept our son with the same maths teacher through years 10, 11 & 12 when they had three separate maths groups and two other maths teachers.
Eventually our son's dreams and chances of going to one of his three choices of universities were completely shattered by the final school assessed grades.
We wrote to the school and ask them as to how a bright person with consistent top or near top grades can end up with low A-level pass grades that are well below his average and amazingly all of the grades were below the schools predicted grades for our son.
But the school did nothing to change this.
We only recently found that many other schools accommodate and manage this This type of neurodivergent condition well by working with the pupil and the parents and This helps those pupils shine at the end.
Our son was of course extremely upset and distraught by his results. We were sad and extremely worried for our sons future.
We eventually totally lost faith in this school. We can confidently say that the Latymer School in Edmonton has damaged our sons future and severely betrayed our trust through there incompetence and arrogance.
We supported our son through this shock and horrible experience with the Latymer School. Our son then had to collect himself and we together struggled for 2 months. Until eventually, we managed to find a suitable university but as we see now that his original choices would have better suited him. Though he is now doing well.

This review is long overdue.  As a trainee teacher here, mature and of Asian origin which was a initial shock to their system, and despite being a quick learner by the end of my training placement of 7 weeks, this so called 'great' and 'the best in North London' school could not even provide me with a Satisfactory report at the end of the 7 weeks with them, despite seeing the progress that I had made for the final observation lesson, although they admitted to my University Link Tutor, that my lesson was Good 'with a few weaknesses'.  So my own University provided me with the positive report I needed to progress further.  If a school is prejudiced in any way, towards its pupils and teachers, and I can say this school is definitely one of them, it will not ascend to the heights it is capable of rising to !! a thorough lack of support for a trainee teacher (who was not a PhD like the rest of them) than you can imagine but who has always had the pupils' best interests at heart throughout and who was complimented time and time again about how they much enjoyed my lessons.

Building is ok. Kids, not so much. Food is overpriced and disgusting (stop serving Pasta King). Boys toilets are always dirty. Good place to get mugged.
