Everything was absolutely delicious, the garden was a lovely setting and really friendly service. Impressive cooking at a very reasonable price, great experience overall :)
We also notified the team about an allergy and the substitution was delicious.

All dishes were great but I especially loved the walnut pasta, the rarebit starter, and the fermented berry dessert which was so special.

Absolutely obsessed with this place.
Once you get over the fact that you have to leave central London to get here, it all gets better by the moment.
Really cozy as you walk in, there are no many tables and there is a more than decent space between them which helps maintain the relaxed atmosphere.
The food is just fabulous, we loved every single dish from the tasting menu.
The service is also great, and the chefs bring you each dish and explain what you are about to taste.
The best part, apparently the menu changes completely every few weeks, allowing you to have something different every time you come.
The price of the tasting menu is £73 as of 2024 and they do not add service charge on top.
Will definitely be coming back here soon.

What can I say... In general a good experience, however, none of the dishes blown me away considering it's a one star place? This was not the case when I went to the last one in NYC... The variety of ingredients are quite limited (a lot of pickled stuff) and most dishes rely heavily on the sauces especially the main. The waiters only come when serve the dishes and feel like they're in a hurry to leave. The price is fairly decent tho...

Very quite possibly the best dining experience I have ever had! We went for the tasting menu and wine pairing. Incredibly tasty, interesting, and delicious dishes. Without a doubt, this is the most interesting and adventurous wine pairing I have had a Michelin star restaurant. The staff were very knowledgeable, as well as super welcoming and assistive. My favourite dish was the monkfish with mushrooms and liver. Overall, an unforgettable experience and lovely way to end an evening in Hackney. On top of that, this place is surprising value for money. Will certainly be back soon!

I need to disclaim that my natural palate is not built for fine dining however I liked that the restaurant is on a random suburban street in Hackney away from the hustle and noise of the high street.

It is a cosy restaurant with sitting in the front and at the back.

I was sat in the front and the waiter explains every dish however she was French and couldn’t quite understand her.

One positive is that the meal are based on the produce of the day. So the menu changes often and I may have picked a not so great day.

I was given a house made kombacha which was tasty. Highly recommend

As for the meal, every meal tasted the same, I believe the broth used was the same across the dishes so felt I was eating the same thing over and over again.

Might be my palate like I disclaimed but my favourite was the dessert which may have brought a sweet balance to the same taste across majority of the dishes.

It’s a casual vibe that’s fine dining so hence you would be paying a pretty penny. The atmosphere feels friendly, tables are a bit close but not too close to over hear conversations.
