Came here because I’d heard good things about it and seen good reviews. Never coming here again, the staff took ages to take our order. It seemed the food was heated up in a microwave, my partners food had cold spots. Also came out about 5 minutes after we had ordered, no way it could come that quick! Duck gyozas were nice. The chicken satay skewers were kind of dry but the dip was nice. Chicken pad Thai was revolting, nasty bits of chicken in all of it, me and my partner found several pieces of chicken skin in it. Got the cocktails because they were 2 for 1. Disgusting cocktails, so weak. The blue lagoon was new to the menu, when the staff saw we hadn’t drank it they took it off the receipt which was very nice of them. Only plus side was that it’s 20% off for blue light. Definitely much better places to eat around Covent Garden for similar prices.

A very average calamari entree and a reasonable pad thai. The flavour in the noodle dish was lacking but the super succulent chicken did compensate. At a loss to understand why there was a line for this place but it’s one of few non takeaway options by the theatre so that could be it

I had a voucher for a free Katsu. The dish was bland and the rice was old. The whole plate looked like it was cooked the day before. The Laksa was average. I had Laksa at this same location before and it was better in the past.
Our server asked us if we wanted any drinks and we asked for some tap water. We got no water at all. She noticed it when she brought our food and said she’ll bring it but she never did. The servers seemed bored throughout the whole service.
The atmosphere wasn’t great either, way too noisy from the children and other people trying to speak up so they cover the other noisy people around them.
I used to like coming to Banana Tree for their dishes. I’ll go elsewhere for Asian dishes as this seems to have lost its touch.

I had a lovely time at banana tree. I went with my family and the vibe was amazing. They do 241 cocktails which is fun! We were served by Reem and she was helpful and lovely.

visited on a monday lunch time, the place was quite quiet so we were seated immediately. we went for the lunch menu which is around £11 for a main and a drink.

the pad thai was lovely, i would have preferred with prawns but under the lunch menu you can only have it with chicken. the laksa however was not the best, nor very authentic tasting.

the service however was not good at all, it took a long time to get our order taken even though the restaurant was very quiet, and the waiters were generally not very attentive

overall it was a good lunch though we probably won’t be returning to any of the branches anytime soon
