We went to see international pianist Girma yifrashewa. We enjoyed listening to his own pieces. Also played the legendary Ethiopian female pianist and composer Emahoy Tsegué-Maryam Guèbrou's pieces. Full House audience applause 👏🏼 🙌🏽 👌

World class music. World class snobbery.

We attended one of the late Sunday morning performances, which are perfectly timed for the weekend visitor. The music was absolutely exceptional. We enjoyed a flawless, virtuosic, performance in a venue with great acoustics.

However, the atmosphere was intimidating and represented everything that's bad about the British establishment. Not exactly the fault of the venue, but most of the other audience members fell firmly into the pale and stale category and were unwelcoming at best, and downright rude at worst. Thankfully, the music (did I mention how good the music was?), just about compensated.

Wigmore Hall is one of the best recital halls anywhere. Large enough to have serious talent perform, but small enough that even the seats right at the back and in the balcony have excellent acoustics.
Add to that a good location, decent bar and seats that can accommodate the widest of bottoms and it's a winner.

Just been to another fabulous Sunday concert. Wonderful, moving performance by the Aquinas piano trio. Balm to the soul! Thank you Wigmore.

£4  booking few is huge tax on online purchases especially on cheaper tickets.  How come it costs more to run a small group of servers in the cloud vs paying to employ booking staff to man the tax-free ticket office ? Very up-market audience, sad lack of diversity, not at all reflective of London.
