We visited Jamavar on a Sunday lunchtime. The waiters were friendly and welcoming, and the vibe was very relaxed, with a mix of couples and a family birthday celebration. We chose the three-course lunch set menu, priced at £54 per person. It was ample food, and they even brought over extra naan and rice for our main. The highlight for me was the Pan-Seared Achaari Pork, with its variety of flavours and textures, and the Old Delhi Butter Chicken. The cocktails were excellent too, especially the Vintage Negroni with its balanced cinnamon flavour. We stayed for several hours and weren't rushed, ending up being the last ones there before they closed for the afternoon. The only downside was that the restaurant felt a bit cramped—our table for two was very close to a loud couple next to us—and the sparkling water was quite steep. Still, these were minor niggles and didn’t take away from the experience. An amazing taste journey that leaves you full and satisfied, all at an affordable price for Michelin-star quality food.

The place is ok. Since London is very good when it comes to Indian food there are much better options in terms of taste. The prices are also high with no apparent reason. I might come here if I was on a date but if the goal is just great Indian food then there are better options

A Michelin Star brings with it a certain weight of expectation, which on this occasion was not met. The food is fine fair and the lamb chop is a particular highlight, but the signature butter chicken was a little disappointing and would have benefitted from more generosity on the chicken front.
The service was satisfactory and the sommelier deserves a special mention for diligently talking me through my wine flight. However, there was no 'going the extra mile' that is now an expectation of a fine dining experience. An enjoyable luncheon overall, but not worth a second visit.
