La Brasserie Mayfair is renowned for its classic European menu, featuring standout dishes that appeal to discerning palates. The centre cut fillet of beef, pan-fried foie gras with Madeira truffle sauce, and spinach exemplify the restaurant's commitment to rich flavors and premium ingredients. The ambiance aims to evoke a chic, Parisian bistro, complemented by a carefully curated wine list and a selection of innovative cocktails.

Despite its stylish aspirations, La Brasserie Mayfair has garnered mixed reviews, with some patrons highlighting its inconsistent food quality and decor that doesn't quite match its upscale image. Notably, the restaurant's seafood options, like the salmon salad, have been described as tasteless, and the overall experience can sometimes fall short of expectations. However, the centre cut fillet of beef and the large, appetizing paella remain popular choices among visitors.

It is known for its European-inspired cuisine, especially its hearty meat dishes and seafood options, though reviews suggest the overall quality can be inconsistent.

Its central location in Mayfair makes it a convenient spot for a luxurious meal after exploring nearby attractions like Green Park and Buckingham Palace.

This place is right next to Green Park tube station, below Fahkreldine. It has a small outside sitting space, but it only has shade on half of it so you can roast if you sit on the other half!


 Its inside space is dark and stuffy, it does not make you welcome at all. There are tables inside on the window, which is the best seating space, although it usually is taken.


 The place aspires to be a smart eating place, but it does not really have the food to go with it, as its options and quality in general are all quite average.


 Admittedly, its centre cut fillet of beef, pan fried foie gras, Madeira truffle sauce and spinach is quite yummy. However, at £27.50 it may as well be.


 I wasn't that lucky with other options, like their salmon salad, absolutely tasteless. I ordered it for lunch, but I had previously asked if its size would be ok for a lunch main course. I had been assured that it was. Now, I don't know what others have for lunch, I must be a big eater because that wouldn't even have been a good size for a starter for me! So I left hungry that day, and of course, I have not been back since that last visit.


 However, I saw a paella being served that time, which looked quite appetizing, plus it was a big size! ;) I had seen it on the menu the times that I had been there but I always feel suspicious about ordering paella anywhere in London, as it always is a disappointment. If I decide to go back it will only be to try that paella. I will flip if it ends up being another flop like it is everywhere else!


 Alert! Beware of ordering soft drinks in this place, as they are £4 for a small bottle. Yeah, you heard right!!!


 So yeah, it has the location, it certainly has the big prices, it does not have the food, menu and deco to go with what they want to portray.

I've dined at this restaurant twice now; once as part of a Groupon deal and one as a 50% offer. 

Even before I'd entered the restaurant, I'd been given a poor initial impression. There was a man outside handing out flyers to coax passers-by to enter the restaurant!

I had called ahead to confirm the booking twice, and yet when my sister arrived before me, they said that the name was not on their list!

We were not informed of our timing for dinner so we sat in the bar until we could wait no longer. We had to ask to be moved to our dinner table and they failed to bring our glasses over for us - we had to carry them ourselves. Poor service for a Mayfair restaurant.

Only plus point: Cocktails were tasty with the right balance of ingredients

I noted that the cutlery was of the cheap variety - light-weighted.

We were charged for the bread and butter basket, which was plonked on our table without comment. However, 2 sets of Olives were free! One dish at the bar with our cocktails and one plonked on our dinner table for no reason at all. However, confusingly, when I came back the following week for a meal, the olives were different!! Nastier in taste; unfresh and bitter

There was no flavour on the chicken or the fish dish. 
Both tasted like something I'd make at home; not a meal I'd pay an extortionate price for.  Mayfair location but extremely poor quality meal.

The tables were visibly dirty. Greasy hand prints and crumbs were not wiped off after dinner. Napkins were not placed on our laps!

We were not given any side plates for our bread for a good 5 minutes after we were served the bread basket. Butter was in a paper and not a butter ramekin!

We'd just been served our mains and had not even started to eat and someone came over to ask if everything was ok. 

Plus point: Parmesan cheese was offered for the pasta dish

Tarte au pomme was more like an apple cake. The apple and the base had merged to a lumpy consistency. Vanilla ice-cream on a sugar wafer helped it go down.


On one occasion, we had gnocchi pasta and penne arriabiata and a side salad. All edible but nothing special that was worth that £10 each.

4 different staff members asked us if we were ready for desert, even though we'd been very clear that we were full from the mains and needed a gap before we ordered desert. It took them ages to take our order, and then they tried to rush us to take the last order!? 

Service charge was Not Optional on the bill!! Shocking tactics!

No thank you when we were leaving!!!  Not good, not good at all!

Finally, fellow dining customers were sitting in the restaurant in jeans and slippers! Shocking!

I echo everything that the other reviewer said, particularly about them not having the decor to go with what they are trying to portray. The prices on the menu really don't match the surroundings.
The food is slightly better than average, but nothing too exciting  probably best avoided.

I don't write reviews but had to in this case.  All bad.  Would never go back and I'm not even a picky eater.  Food was poorly prepared, either bland or over seasoned.  Paella was terrible.  Service was great until we began make complaints regarding the food where the waiter basically started arguing with us and walked away when the bill came.  I'm surprised they are still in business.
