This isn't the first time we have been to Morston Hall, and the quality of the whole experience was again simply outstanding.

We went primarily for the tasting menu in the evening and stayed the night so both of us could enjoy the full experience. The food was stunning to look at when put in front of you, and the flavours and textures were amazing. Excellent cocktails to start with and we were recommended a wine that went well with all courses. The next time we will go with their recommended wine flight, matching a wine with each course.

Breakfast was very good as well. The service was excellent and everyone knew exactly what the ingredients were in each course.

We will return.

The staff went out of their way to accommodate us for a special birthday celebration. We had the most amazing lunch with a tasting menu. The food is incredible!

Perhaps our expectation was over optimistic of this long established Michelin star restaurant. Our evening started wonderfully with pre dinner drinks and canapés. Once we were seated it felt then like perhaps the service team hadn’t got behind the story of the food (perhaps with it changing every night making it hard to live the story).There was no consistency in presentation of the plates at the table, our empty glass from canapés didn’t move off the table the whole service, water ran out for a whole course, wine glasses left empty and the waitress over poured one glass to empty the bottle.. Bread from first course and side plates sat on the table throughout the meal. It just wasn’t anything we’d experienced before for this type of meal while the food was very good there was nothing stand out; the chervil on one dish was wilted  and withered on the dish which I’m sure chef wouldn’t have wanted.
Overall beautiful cooked food but lacking in innervation and wow factor. Service was okay but lacking in the attention to detail, care and consistency you would expect from a Michelin star restaurant.

We attended Morton Hall for Sunday lunch which was exquisite. The dining room was light, well spaced and beautifully decorated. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable and the food was of the highest standard.

We stayed for 1 night as part of a large group (celebrating a significant birthday). We had the tasting menu with wine pairings. The food and service were fabulous. Our room (at the end of the garden in the new block) was large and comfortable (though perhaps the design could be a bit more adventurous). The garden is lovely, and despite the mixed waether we did manage to have a champagne aperitif on the lawn before eating. The staff were professional and charming throughout our stay. A lovely treat (but super expensive).
