I would love to return as it’s a great little pub and the area is stunning.
Better customer care would be good
Had to hang around 10 minutes waiting for someone to check us in. The barman was just chatting, sure he could have given us the room key. It meant that we had to rush then as our lift was coming. We were told we were in the building behind the pub and had to make our way on a muddy gravel path. I thought we’d booked to stay in an old pub so that was a bit rubbish. The rooms although nice, smelt damp probably due to the building work outside. Had to leave the window open all night.
On our return there was no lights outside and phone torches were needed.
The view was lovely in the morning
As we were checking out on a Friday morning early for work there was no cooked breakfast that we had paid for. The earliest being 0830
Was quite hard to get a drink too on our return as they had cashed up but people were still in the bar
We left at 0835 but couldn’t get into the Green Dragon to hand our key in or say goodbye to our friends who’d actually got a gorgeous room. Had to post it through the letter box.
An expensive night really and not what I expected. Will be very specific next time I book

This is a fantastic place to stay and eat. The room was very modern with huge tv with all the movie channels. Beautiful bathroom, also feather pillows, I liked the inclusion of the cafetiere as well as the kettle with fresh ground coffee.  The food was way beyond expectations. Served in the pub. Huge portions, wonderfully prepared and cooked.  The starter of pate was the best I've ever tasted, served with excellent toasted local bread and salad. The pub/hotel is in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales with lots of places to visit without less than half an hours drive. We stayed there in a snowy minus 4 degrees, so the scenery was even more amazing. If I could award 100 stars I would.

Spent two nights here. A little apprehensive after seeing some poor reviews. However, I needn't have worried. Our room was lovely. Beautifully decorated and finished. Fabulous bed, duvet and pillows. Amazing bath!! Lovely cosy bar area. Staff were friendly and attentive, food was usual pub fayre but tasty and promptly served. An excellent break, would definitely recommend.

We had a warm greeting and our room was very spacious and well thought out.

Service at the pub itself was a bit lackluster and in need of a bit more attention. We weren't the only table to be a bit bemused our plates weren't cleared away after our mains for a significant time. The food itself was good.

However, service at the bar and negotiating some belligerent regulars has put us off returning. Not least because the keeper of the gate of Hardraw Force itself saw fit to interrogate us outside whilst taking a few photographs of the pub, she proceeded to draw an imaginary boundary line across the road and then follow us into the pub before dinner itself. Strange!

Beautiful location, lovely characterful pub, friendly staff and really lush food. Stayed for 1 night. The room was beautiful. Only reason for 1 star off, was the lack of noise insulation. We understand the building and out buildings are old but maybe as part of the renovation, consider some noise insulation. Hearing every word the people say in the room next door, their TV very loud through the wall till late at night, and snoring throughout the night( not me ) wasn't the best. However this would not deter us from recommending or staying again. Maybe another room possibly... 😁
