We had the tasting menu, most dishes are very good especially the scallop and the veggie dish. Everything is perfectly cooked but the meat dishes seem to lack balance, they are a bit too salty for me and the sauce that goes with it can be a bit too heavy/earthy, really could do with a bit of sweetness and acidity. The service was very slow and the meal took 3.5 hours.
Still with all that it is not a bad place to eat.

Orwell’s delivered an unforgettable Christmas  day lunch! The food was absolutely sublime, with every dish crafted to perfection. The front-of-house staff were warm, attentive, and made the experience even more special. Definitely a 5-star experience from start to finish – highly recommended!

Incredible restaurant! I had a fantastic meal there last night. The tasting menu was sublime to the point where I was struggling to choose a favourite course. The prestigious wine pairing was also fantastic and complemented each course perfectly. The service was spot on too. 10/10 as an experience and will definitely be going back!

We (wife and I) actually ate at Orwell's back in the summer and I've been meaning to leave a review since then. The delay has been down to trying to find the words to do justice to the meal. I still haven't found them so I'll simply say it was one of, if not the best meals I've ever eaten.

We had the "Taste of the Season" Tasting menu with wine pairing. It was as close to perfect as a meal can get. All courses were imaginative, interesting and unbelievably tasty. The wine pairing was equal to the food, with some really interesting selections.

What makes this restaurant extra special is the service and welcome you receive. Ryan looked after us incredibly.

Huge thank you to you all. We'll be back. And sorry it's taken so long to review!

CertainlThis was my first visit to Orwells, and I was pleasantly surprised by their food. From the cocktails and arrival snack to the starters, main course, and dessert, everything was fantastic. I will definitely be returning.

I highly recommend trying the Beef Tartare and the Roast Leg of Lockerbie Lamb.
