Beautiful warm place for lunch, dinner or just sitting by the fireplace with a drink. It’s a perfect place for special occasions or a date. Very peaceful private pub with a lot of character. Ample parking spaces. Booking and waiting service very very good. I definitely recommend this place. I’m local so not stayed here, but I believe would high standards!

We didn't stay but once again had a delicious meal. The pub is beautiful and decorated for Christmas. The staff are friendly and professional hence the service is excellent. This is our 5th visit and we are happy to travel for an hour to eat here; it's that good.

The 6 course taster menu was outstanding on the first night of our stay. The ribeye steaks on the second night were amazing. What a fabulous place to stay. Our Border Collie 14 was so impressed by her bed - I managed to source one and she is settled down in it as we speak at home.  The accommodation is impressive. We had booked tickets to Blenheim - but we were disappointed to find it was closed for filming. We wandered around Woodstock - Stow and gentle walk in Wootton to the Church from Killingworth Castle was lovely. Thank you for a memorable stay. Chef Adam Brown.

We were looking forward to celebrating a birthday at this restaurant after hearing great reviews, but unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. From undercooked potatoes and raw pork to inedible fish and terrible wild mushrooms, the entire meal was a letdown. Even the salmon was frozen. The only saving grace was the wine. The desserts were our last hope, but they also failed to impress. Overall, we had the worst dining experience in England at this restaurant. Save yourself the time and money and avoid this place.

We went as a table of 4 for the 6 course tasting menu + wine for a special occasion. The place was lovely, food was incredible, and the staff were great. Would definitely recommend for a nice meal out/special occasion
