Perfect location in New Town Edinburgh, near shopping and highly walkable. The building is gorgeous, old mixed with the new. Very comfortable rooms. We loved the set up with the restaurant on site. It's surrounded by extremely comfy couches in a cozy layout and very casual for moderate to higher end food options. Excellent scotch selection on site as well. We adored the concierge who helped point us to a few places to visit. Easy cab service called from the front desk as well.

This hotel is superbly located and has the very best layout. The rooftop garden is the ideal place to let children run around when you need a break from the city.

David at the front desk went above and beyond helping us.

There are complimentary beverages in the mini bar but they are pretty strict on how they refill them. I asked for more water in exchange for the beers and sodas and had to settle for what they would provide.

I like that they offer traditional Scottish treats at check in

The rooms have seen better days and the outdoor spaces are adjoined. It really is a lovely hotel.

The only reason I'm not rating it 4 starts is because I had a runny nose while I was there and called housekeeping to replace the empty tissue box and never got a response.

I went down to the front desk and asked again hours later and still didn't get any sent to the room. The next day 12 hours later the box was replaced when the room was cleaned

Lovely hotel but given the huge expense my expectations were higher. It’s a weird configuration with no lift to the second floor so you need to go to third, walk across entire hotel and use service lift to get to second where room was over a noisy bar. We got lost trying to get back and think we left via a service exit.

Beds a tad firm but pillows to die for. Nice toweling dressing gowns. Room was super hot, even after reducing temp. Big bath and spacious shower. No decaf tea in room but it was brought soon after requested. Breakfast was delicious. I’d stay again if not on 2nd floor. It was a Christmas gift from my husband, I had a great time but would have opted for something else had I known about the room position.

We went to the Glasshouse for afternoon tea to celebrate a colleagues birthday.

It was incredible value for money in a fantastic setting with staff that looked after everything we needed.

The staff couldn’t have been any nicer and more helpful, catering to all dietary requirements and ensuring we had a great time.

We were treated to a complimentary glass of Prosecco each which was such a nice touch to the afternoon.

The setting is great, such a calm and secluded space right in the heart of Edinburgh.

We stayed 3 nights here for our honeymoon in December and were totally blown away. The staff here provided the most exceptional and attentive service we have ever received from a hotel.

We were checked in by John, a special thank you for the wonderful things he helped organise and service.

Recommend stopping at their whisky bar, the staff have great knowledge and it’s a very cosy spot.

Hotel rooms are really spacious, great shower. The hotel is wide spread out so mind for any accessibility issues. Loved the location, very central.

Recommend for a nice comfortable stay with warm hospitality.
