Interesting museum about the history of the working people in Scotland. The models may have been a bit dated and strange but I enjoyed all of the information. Seemed like maybe the displays were made about 20 or 30 years ago based on the information relating to modern issues.

Like many of the museums in Edinburgh this one is free to enjoy.  It's mostly covers the subjects of work and employment over the years of people living in and around Edinburgh.  There are alot of displays and stories regarding life and experiences as Edinburgh grew.  If you like history this will be a rewarding experience, and should that you about 30 minutes to and hour to go through.  There are stairs as there are three levels of displays. Great place to go if it's raining.

My absolute favourite building on the Royal Mile, can never resist taking a photograph while walking past it 🫶 The museum is small but very informative if you want to get an insight into how Edinburgh was and how its people lived in the past. Loads of information on the worker classes and occupations as well. I'm always fascinated by the fact that it used to be a prison and was later on turned into a museum!

The way it looks seem like it might be one of the prominent museum in the town that offers the old-fashion atmosphere. You could feel it through the air. All those often devastating history of the people of the city, is present quite strongly somehow. The layout that defines the museum into levels are typical in the town. The mannequin...
