We went to The Scran & Scallie on a Sunday before Christmas as a treat. It was quite pricey but we had a gift card.

We both had the homemade lemonade which was delicious.

The ham, egg and chips was delicious too however the egg part left a bit to be desired. The eggs were a bit tasteless to be honest which was a bit of a letdown. The size of the ham hock was absolutely massive for the price and I felt like I got a whole ham.

The roast was also delicious and really yummy.

Would recommend if you’re looking for a nice British restaurant for a tasty treat.

A very good option away from the main city. The restaurant has a warm environment and dim lighting. Staff were welcoming specially our our waiter who came to tell us the specials. He was sweet, kind, patient and very attentive (long hair). I have never listened to the specials so carefully as usually people just blab the and not tell you the price. Pie was amazing ( I would like the recipe if you are giving it out). The gnocchi dish is tasty but could do with couple more gnocchi pieces. Haggis, give me 14 of em right now.

Reasonably tasty food; presentation really nice. Appetisers night have been tastier than mains - but I’m sure it depends on what you order. Pricing a little high.

Short list of beer but was quite tasty and reasonably priced. We had one cocktail that was delicious. Service was reasonable.

We were there in a weekday at around 1pm, plenty of seating.

We visited during our time in Edinburgh after viewing some online reviews and mentions on social media. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff were highly attentive and pleasant. The cocktails were delicious. The food was awesome! We had the specials for both appetizer (shared) and dinners. The sticky toffee pudding and an ice pudding desserts topped off the meal. We would highly recommend visiting when in Edinburgh.

This was our first stop in Scotland for a drink and a bite to eat last Christmas. Really cool cozy spot with traditional Scottish offerings. Maybe we ordered the wrong things but it wasn’t our favorite. Would have to return and try some other things to be fair. The fish pie recommended by the waitress was well presented and very unique but just way too rich in my opinion. You only need a bite or two and it felt like way too much for two people. The beef cheeks were fine but ended up making me sick that night. I just checked the menu 10 months later and don’t see them anymore (good thing). The scallops were good but compared to all the amazing scallops we had on our trip it wasn’t very memorable. My drink was good and overall I like the spot. Definitely would give another chance
