We had a Valentines meal here but unfortunately will not return or recommend it.
The service was not up to standard for the value of the total bill. There was a Valentines tasting menu advertised on their Instagram but no menu offered at the restaurant. We asked if this was available but it never materialised so we went ahead with the Al a Carte menu.

Oysters & cocktails were spot on. My starter & main was very enjoyable (Scallop & Wild bass) but my husband was disappointed with both his courses (Pear & stilton & the £64 Steak).

Overall the service was poor. It was our 1st time here & the restaurant was (too) full so this may have been why the attention was just not there. If you are paying £250+ for a meal we think this needs some improvement.

We had an amazing meal at Lovage - the food was delicious and the staff were very attentive.   My daughter is a vegetarian and asked about a veggie option.  She was given a full vegan menu to choose from.  Can't fault the place

Visited this beautiful restaurant for the first time last night and had a fantastic meal. The service was absolutely excellent too. The menu offers an amazing selection of locally sourced produce, cooked to perfection! Thoroughly recommend the lobster starter and the venison main course! Every detail about the presentation was superb and meticulously constructed. There was an excellent wine list to choose from, with a good selection of wines served by the glass as well which makes a change from only offering ‘house wine’! The ambience in the restaurant was warm and inviting but with a modern contemporary decor. A wonderful evening - we will be back!

Three of us had a very good lunch at Lovage. We all had the set lunch menu at £30 pp for three courses and enjoyed the food very much along with a couple of bottles of wine and coffees. The only thing that detracted and the reason I only gave four stars for atmosphere was how noisy the restaurant was due to a very large group of male diners at a table near us. We had to shout to make conversation but once the group left things improved. The service was not the most welcoming - I booked online for 1.00 but they said it was for 12.00 but they had a few free tables anyway - it felt like the visit didn't get off to a good start.The service was prompt between courses but just not exactly warm and inviting. The interior is very simple and modern.The standard of food was very good and will definitely go back ( hopefully less noise the next time).
