Went for Sunday lunch, our 4th visit over the past few years. Our experience was really good. We shared a game pate starter, which was lovely. Mains were steak and ale suet pudding and mushroom Wellington. Both were excellent, with perfect Yorkshire puddings, lovely red wine gravies, crisp roast potatoes and plentiful veg. We shared the rice pudding, which was perfect and an imaginative set of flavours.
In our experience, the quality and service were excellent and the portions generous. We were very full after 2 courses. We will happily return.

The food is the best I’ve ever had - absolutely top notch and the rooms are equally lovely! We love staying here and always save it for a special occasion treat. Well done Drunken Duck team 👏

Worth noting they refuse to serve people with severe nut allergies. This isn’t obvious from the website or booking process and not ideal given the remote location and difficulty of finding anywhere else good to eat at peak time in the Lake District when you find out in the pub. If you don’t have allergies then it’s a beautiful pub with a very interesting menu in a gorgeous location.

Quality is good but it is more expensive than I expected. Meals are sized for the small eaters so an extra veg order is recommend.
Staff are abrupt but reasonably pleasant, service charge is automatically added to the bill but there is no table service, orders at the bar only for your food and drinks.

Recently visited the Drunken Duck to celebrate our 5th anniversary, it was a fantastic experience.

We sat in the “pub side” of the restaurant, which is lovely (and dog friendly!).

The food was absolutely incredible and all the staff were lovely. Will definitely be returning.
