Worth the effort, but it takes forever to get to the chapel.  Constantly shouting at everyone to not take pictures and keep moving along.  Worth the long day and hassle though.  Plenty of people offering "Skip the line" there at the gate, and if you haggle you can get a great price.

Absolutely breathtaking, the art decor is stunning, such a gorgeous tranquil place, I can only imagine the splendour in years gone by.
The Roman statues are amazing & it really doe's give you an insight into the Roman empire.
Beautiful, breathtaking paintings & tapestries, I would highly recommend a visit if you are in Rome.

Seeing the chapel was an amazing mental moment. Just note that you cannot take pictures inside the actual chapel where you go to pray.  When you go inside the chapel take the time to just stand there and look around at how detailed the art is, it is so beautiful, colorful and vibrant.  Again, be prepared for a lot of stairs up-and-down, it's a huge building and luckily on our tour it connects from the Vatican. So no going out and having to come back in.

Definitely book prior online. Id required with your entry. 5 euro booking fee per ticket. About 3-5hrs to get the basics.  nice eateries inside not over priced. A slice of pizza, chips, and a drink,11 euros . Some great photo opportunities. Can go back to any place to view again or if you missed one. So beautiful gift shop locations. Remember to look up as well as down. So much to take in. Audio tours available for a price.
