Visited the Gardens as part of the 'breakfast beat the line' early morning Guided tour. Well worth paying the extra to be able to visit the gardens with out the big crowds. Stunning gardens and buildings even more beautiful in the early morning sun.

Spectacular experience if you have the opportunity. Get tickets in advance for a tour through the Vatican Museums. We went first thing in the morning on a summer morning and it was fantastic. The walking tour was about 1.75 miles, with two breaks to refill water bottles and one for the bathroom. Slightly hilly and with stairs in ways that could be problematic for individuals with mobility limitations, but I think there may be a bus-based option as well. A tranquil start to your day before the frenzy of the museums.....

Just days ago toured Vatican City gardens by bus. You need a guide to purchase ticket for you in order to see gardens where popes and saints pray. Besides being beautiful, there is a peace and calm that cannotbe experienced in books or photos. History is in German, French, English, Italian, other languages and I selected Spanish for the earphones you are provided. Great opportunities to snap photos from bus. Tour is 50 minutes long and a nice rest from all the walking and endless stairs and steps in Rome. Travel healthy and with sturdy legs. Bring Tiger Balm. Worth the journey.
