I had just booked the hotel, and about 15 minutes later found out that the conference I was going to attend was cancelled. I reached out to cancel, and was told that there was no refunds. It was not even 20 minutes, that i tried to make the correction. l This is horrible customer service. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I booked a hotel room here to attend a work conference. After about 20 minutes I found out the conference was cancelled so I cancelled my room. The hotel would not refund me. I'm very disappointed with the lack of flexibility and customer service. I would not recommend reserving at this location.

Staff is exceedingly nice and room was fine for the price. They are working hard to remodel and improve this hotel. I must say I was nervous at first appearance but it was clean and there were other travelers just like us. I felt safe with their triple security doors (entry, lobby, room).

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I found it online and four of us stayed for about $72 with all the fees. Overall a great value and good for someone on a budget. The room was clean and attractive. Staff was courteous, but not friendly. Lot of places to eat nearby, many open 24 hours. Downsides: Breakfast was very minimal, even as a continental breakfast. A costco muffin, juice box and a rice krispy snack ahdned to you across the counter. No place to eat it, except in the room. They made each of us come down to get it. We were in a corner room and our "Free wifi" worked only when we were right by the door to the room or in the bathroom. I can't speak for Vancouver in general, or even Canada, but it was a lot of driving on city streets to get there from a major highway.

* If motel is the worst for you in your standard, this "place" is probably your new worst. * I'm not sure how those 2, 3, 4 star came from, but this is definitely not worth even 1 star. * If you happen to find this place from Expedia, don't trust the photos because it's misleading, actual place is not even close to any assumptions you might have based on the photos. (I think those photos were taken years ago, probably when this place was cleaned for advertised purposes.) ** Expedia, I really think you should remove this so-called hotel out from your listing! TL;DR It's like an old and low-end apartment unit that has been mis-managed or abandoned by "don't know what and how" people. "How can someone manage a place like this?!" will be your first impression. Details: - The room is dirty, just like those 1-star comments stated. You won't want to barefoot on the carpet. - window curtain is very very old and noticablely dirty and has stains. - there's obvious marks of patched works on the wall and you probably do better job than that... - bathroom... Traces and signs showing that it was either done by someone who has no idea, or no one was even taking care of it. Towel is dirty.

We got a discounted price due to a stain on the floor. I was fine with that. What I wasnt ok with was the stained comforter, dust streamers hanging from the ceiling and the 6 inch black hair on wall of the shower. My husbands hair is less than one inch and my hair is very long and not black. From the exterior this hotel appears run down. Inside validates the initial suspicion. Elevator loud with clanging. Halls poorly illuminated. Painters tape noted along upper walls down hall. Wallpaper peeling. This establishment is charging 3-4 star prices for a less than one star facility. If I didnt need a bed near the airport, I would never stay here!!

Sitting on the outskirts of an area reminicent of Chinatown, the Cassandra Hotel serves as an inexpensive option for tired travelers. Booking through hotels.com, I snagged a superior queen room for a mere $58 after tax and fees. The lobby staff was definitely new, it took a bit of training and shuffling around to get things squared away, but they were nice and apologetic- and it's not like I was in a big hurry anyway. We got a room on the third floor with a gorgeous view of the surrounding neighborhood and mountains. It was roomy and equipped with a desk, love seat, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and cable television (although the remote did not work). Maybe it was post-Olympics celebration, but we heard a bunch of guys conversing awfully loud down the hall that night, it was kind of irritating, so we went down to the hot tub. They have a large hot tub and sauna open until 11pm, but first you must venture down to the lobby and ask for the key, (which wasn't so bad, but while returning the key I had some shady guy in a business suit staring at me). They have a controlled access parking lot under the hotel; nobody gets in without a room key. Getting out was more of a challenge, apparently you have to trigger some sort of hidden censor, but we eventually got out! All in all it was a pretty good experience, the room was clean, no mystery stains- (although there was a used hand towel waiting for us in the bathroom)- other than that it was great.

In a prime location like Vancouver you would expect all of the good hotels to be booked and that is true so this hotel was the only option. I knew that it would be bad from the reviews but not as bad as it turned out to be. In the lobby, there were day old cookies and an empty coffee maker. The problem with having cookies open to the public is that drunk homeless women will walk in and steal the platter. The halls were filled with cigarette buns and people smoking. The room was filled with mold and the window was broken. Honestly, I would rather stay in a landfill. If you could rate this hotel -100, then that is what I would give this place.I can't believe I saw a 4 star review on this place. They must have been higher than the people who manages this hotel.
