Great place for movies. They always have such great options for international movies and great bar as well. Their service is great, the staff is well trained and super friendly.

We just went here last night for the first day of the Vancouver Film Festival. We saw Ghost Trail and it was a really nice movie i enjoyed it, something different for us that we saw. The event workers were really nice and guided us to where we needed to go. It was clean and the seats were comfy. I saw a past review about mice and tbh that freaked me tf outttt but no there was no mice thank god. It was super clean they had popcorn we didnt get any snacks though, just enjoyed the movie

I made the mistake of buying a $50 holiday gift card from this theatre yesterday, and it's been nothing but frustrating! They were out of the physical bonus packages that come with a $50 purchase, but the staff member indicated a QR code on a display and explained that I could visit the link and get a virtual bonus package. Sadly, this was wrong - when I went to the site at home, it turned out that you could only get the virtual bonus packages if you purchased an e-card. Today I went back to the theatre for a refund, and the manager told me that gift cards were non-refundable purchases. I explained what I'd been told by his staff, but he didn't care. His only suggestion was that I could use the gift card to buy another gift card - again, wrong, when I got home and tried his suggestion, the site would only accept credit cards. Do none of these people know what they're talking about?

We figured we have dinner here before seeing our movie... Ordered these Nachos and was quite shocked and disappointed at what we saw and received. Paid 19.00 for this "crap"... was very unimpressed. One can buy 2 large bags of popcorn for this price and it would be well worth it.

MICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was at the late show here (Fifth Avenue Cinemas... theatre #3 balcony level). Was waiting for the movie to start and a mouse ran out about 2 feet from me. It could probably smell my popcorn. Disgusting and literally terrifying for someone scared of mice (I'm sure some of you can relate). Not to mention the disease they carry around and you SERVE FOOD. Plus, a great way to completely lose one's appetite. I would have left, but didn't want to waste my money and really wanted to see the movie. Moved to the lower level (not like that would help because if you see them darting out, there are TONS more where that came from, but thought it would at least be busier down there so I was hoping that would deter them from roaming around until I left) ... and saw them literally crossing the aisle during the movie. Can't even focus on the movie after this happens - can't even keep your feet on the floor. Most people never notice because of course, it's dark and you would hope there are measures in place to prevent this. And imagine they run on the seats and really catch you off guard. Sick! The whole complex must be infested... and talk about rodent heaven with all of the popcorn scraps, food pieces, dirty cup holders, dirty floors. On top of that, the manager lady (I'm guessing Manager, as she was dealing with the cash register after closing) could have cared less when I told her as I was leaving, so that just tells me they see zero urgency in this issue. Here is a tip: when the movie industry is DYING and there are LITERALLY only a handful of people in your theatre, perhaps you should take something like MICE seriously and actually at least "act" like you give a crap when a customer comes and tells you this. Have you heard the phrase "customer service" or "customer experience"??? I have always loved this theatre and it hurts my heart to know I could never return now, even if I wanted to. I can only imagine where the mice are running around at night. YUCK! With the rat poison ban in BC... this is going to get even worse.

Recently saw an artsy movie here and was impressed with this theater. There are five cinema viewing rooms here (we were in the smallest one, I believe), and this theater complex feels more intimate than other multi-flex theaters around which are larger, louder, brighter and gaudier, with their neon lights, glaring muzak and frenetic signage and vending machines and sometimes arcade games in their lobbies and by the concession stands. In contrast, this cinema feels more like an artsy theater studio or art gallery showcasing films. It's quieter, calmer, more sedate, and it seems cleaner, too. When I visited, the client demographics differed, too; the audiences were older (this may have been a result of the time of day I visited, and the movie I saw. Not sure). And it wasn't remotely crowded, either. The whole movie-watching experience just seemed more...genteel. I liked how you can choose your seat when purchasing your ticket, so there's pre-arranged seating. Interesting how the bathroom in the lobby is unisex and accommodates only one person at a time. Again, just different than in larger cineplexes. Note that you have to be over 19 years old to go to a movie here (so don't bring the kids!). They serve alcoholic beverages here, thus explaining the age restriction. There is paid parking in an underground garage in the building, and metered parking on the street (we parked on Pine, a block away. I didn't see any free parking spots anywhere in the vicinity).

Bad first impression. There was soda spilled on my assigned seat that had not been cleaned up. Whatever. It happens. So I ask an employee to wipe it down. She does a mediocre job, not bothering to unfold the seat to clean the part I have to sit on. Ugh, fine. I go downstairs to get paper towel from the bathroom so I can clean it myself. It's empty. Of course. So I ask the employee to try cleaning it again, and she does, but still I accidentally brush upon the odd sticky spot throughout the film. Gross.

When you want to enjoy the movie with some alcohol and no kids but don't want to pay VIP price, here is the place. The theater size seemed a little smaller than ones from Metrotown and International village but I like the sophisticated and comfortable environment.

This is the Cineplex location we always go to. Good location, great seats, not too overwhelming, and great movie selections. Plus the bar for drinks and food. Definitely recommend!!

This theatre was originally started as an indie venue, but has since been bought out by Cineplex. Parking is available on Burrard after 1800. Before this time, spots can also be found on the side streets. When Cineplex took over, they also renovated the place. Two of the major changes is the relocation of the entrance to 5th Avenue - the former Burrard entrance is now an exit only. Not sure why they did this exactly other than that the original setup may have made the front too crowded. In addition, they added a lounge for people to loiter while waiting for their movies. The theatres themselves are quite small. Seats are rubbery instead of cloth, but tilt back. I found myself rocking back and forth while watching the movie, as I couldn't seem to stay reclined for some reason. There isn't much of a lobby area now, so it can get crowded one while one looks for one's friends. I guess this would've been a decent venue for indie films when the place first opened, but now there isn't really much of a reason to watch anything here, especially when a much larger screen can be enjoyed at one of the SilverCity locations.
