Stunning from start to finish. Gary’s truly sets a new standard of excellence! With the family menu shared between four of us, we got to try every dish on the menu. I kid you not, every single dish was a hit. We were really blown away. The service was immaculate. Wine suggestions were 10/10. Honestly don’t hesitate, just go. PS I was initially unsure from photos about the ambiance but was delighted to find the restaurant dimly lit with burning candles on each table. Beautiful, warm, cozy. Great job guys. We will absolutely be back.

What an absolutely fantastic dining experience here! Before you read on, go do yourself a favour and book a reservation!

The food is wonderful and the service here is top notch. I can see why they have their Michelin rating and they do deserve it.

They give you handcrafted cards if you’re celebrating anything. They have a small cocktail menu, but they’re well made. The food though, absolutely amazing! Worth every bite!

I rarely agree with Michelin's rating. In the case of Gary's, however, I concur- good cooking skills.

Joined 2025 Dineout Vancouver for this experience at Gary's. Curious to see how a pared down version will do. For 65$/ person you and your dining accomplice get to share 5 modest courses.  (We walked away 75% satiated.  But if you are on a Japanese diet, it is sufficient.  Canadian?  probably not.)

Every dish was meticulously prepared and tasted good. Hearty and earthy.  Not as expected of French refinement cuisine.  Nor are the dishes creative.

Service is a mixed bag. Although our server is super friendly to our neighbours, she was icy and unremarkably non conversational to us.  The place is served by the progressive left. If you are into that sort of thing.

Lastly is ambience.  Anytime restaurants serving high ticket menus, they need to care about sound attenuation.  Sure I appreciate the minimalist look to the place, but damn every surface of the place except the acoustic ceiling tiles was hard and reflective.  Difficult to eat in 80 db sound space.

Final bill came to be 180$ with tips and taxes. It's a okay.

I visited Gary’s for New Year’s Eve dinner and was thoroughly impressed. I didn’t realize it had been awarded Bib Gourmand status by Michelin—not a star, but a recognition for offering refined cuisine at an affordable price.

The meal was a six-course menu designed for sharing. Initially, I was a bit worried about whether it would be filling enough, but by the end, I was absolutely stuffed.

The courses included Shigoku oysters, shrimp cocktail, a Caesar salad with popcorn shrimp, trout prepared three ways (a standout dish), bouillabaisse, beef cheeks, and a decadent sticky toffee pudding. Every dish was incredibly delicious, and I would highly recommend dining here.

The cost was $100 per person, plus a 20% service charge. While the service charge felt a bit steep, it was New Year’s Eve, so I wasn’t entirely surprised.

Great ambiance and service. My partner and I ordered the tasting menu, and we had a decent time. However, I can't help shake the feeling that food is a bit overhyped.
Also, the cocktail "Martini No 1" needs a new name. All I could taste was the sherry, and the drink bears little resemblance to an actual martini.
