I’ve been recommended this restaurant several times by different people, so we were looking forward to coming for a while. We booked and prepaid for a 7pm reservation on Valentine’s Day for their set menu, around 3 weeks in advance.

The restaurant is decorated in a thoughtful minimalist manner. They were extremely busy when we came in (as it was Valentine’s Day, I expect nothing less), but it wasn’t too loud - I could still have a conversation with my partner at a respectful volume. The food and our drink orders took a little while to come out, but after the first dishes were served, we didn’t have to wait very long for everything else. Our server was attentive and each item was explained to us in detail.

The food was phenomenal. This is some of the best Thai food Vancouver has to offer. We were a bit worried that the set menu wouldn’t be able to fill us, but the portion sizes were perfect for two people (a bit too much for the two of us as my appetite isn’t that large, so we had to pack some of it to come home). Each dish was bursting with flavour and had lovely presentation. All of them were enjoyable, but my personal favourite dishes were the shrimp cake with salted egg yolk, the roasted bone marrow salad, the hot and sour seafood soup, and the massaman curry beef short rib. Every dish including seafood or meat was cooked to perfection - the seafood was soft, and the beef melted in your mouth.

This was a great Valentine’s Day experience, we went home full and happy. We will definitely be back!

This Thai food at a restaurant, and the ingredients were really fresh. I highly recommend the pan-fried pork chop. Although I’m not usually a fan of pork, this time I was pleasantly surprised, especially by the perfectly balanced sour and spicy sauce. The Pad Thai was also great. The original version only comes with tofu, but you can pay extra to add meat. I found the original version refreshing and delicious, with a sweet and sour flavor enhanced by fresh lemon. The noodles had a nice, chewy texture.

Overall, I would give the restaurant a high rating. The food is good, but there’s nothing particularly memorable about the flavor — it’s just standard deliciousness. However, the portions are quite small, and the price is on the higher side. I’d recommend trying their Happy Hour, and if you really like it, come back for dinner.

One small issue was the service. The staff kept asking if we needed anything else, even though we were already full, and then they brought us the bill without us asking. It felt a bit pushy, making us slightly uncomfortable.

We stayed for less than an hour, and while they did mention that we needed to leave by 7:15 due to other bookings, receiving the bill so early felt rushed.

Service was exceptional. I wish I could remember our servers name. She was great at recommending dishes to us and was very lovely in general.
While the dishes are not huge they are filling for someone like me. The reason why I rate a 4 and not a 5 is that I felt the taste and overall price were not well matched. The food was very tasty; however, I have had similar quality food (of the same type of cuisine) for a much lower price. Unless you are really looking to spend money, I also wouldn’t recommend buying drinks as they are well overpriced (nothing special in my opinion but still tasty).
Overall, I would definitely recommend coming here! :)

We always love Thai cuisine but Song has been by far the most up scale we have tried in this area. Reservations are a must. Our favorites were the Green Mango Crab Salad and Crispy Taro Rolls. Cost for 2 people ordering 2 starters and 2 main came to $157 but worth it.

This is the best Thai food in Vancouver. The green curry is out of this world and the pad Thai can be made according to a range of dietary preferences (the vegan version is the best I’ve tried anywhere). Great vibe and cool cocktail menu, as well, including zero proof options. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!
