If you want succulent and super tender pork knuckle rice plate, come here. It's conveniently located inside the First Markham Place food court. Priced well and generous on portion size...it came with pork knuckle, preserved veggies and egg. Rice was on the bottom, and it was saucy! Very rich and gelatinous. This is good comfort food, and a good consolation if you came here for the chinese BBQ but the line is too long or they sold out.

Came to check out this pork knuckle once the hype died down. Located inside FMP in the unit right next to Presotea. I got myself the Longjiang pork knuckle rice combo which came w/ soup or pop. The rice box came w/ cabbage, a marinated egg, pickled mustard greens, tofu and the pork knuckle over a bed of short grain rice. They also threw in a small container of pickled radishes. I quite liked it! The pork knuckle meat was super tender, the sauce was not too salty and they put an ample amount over the rice. The cabbage was very basic steamed prep. I really enjoyed the tofu. I think I would prolly order some more tofu on the side next time. Soup was chicken-based and had a very strong ginger taste. The pickled radishes were tasty but imo, they were "overly pickled" which might be a turn-off for some folks. Nice value meal! A good change-up when I don't wanna grab my chinese bbq lunch box from Extra BBQ in the food court.

I've already been to the first location of this restaurant at North York and I loved it. Then I saw on social media that they have the second restaurant in the First Markham Place and I really wanted to go there. I finally got a chance to go to the First Markham Place and I was definitely craving for some braised pork knuckle as my dinner! This spot has a soup option, which wasn't a thing at the North York location because the kitchen at North York is too small to cook soup. I ordered the combo so the soup was included. The soup tasted amazing! It was full of mushroom's unique umami. It's a must try! The rice bowl with pork knuckle was also great. It had the same quality as their first restaurant. $13 for a combo or $10 for the rice bowl is a pretty decent price and the amount is huge. If you aren't a big eater like my wife, she only had half of the meal and had it as the next day's lunch. In that case, $13 is really a good deal!

TLDR - food tastes good. Ok value as some competitors offer bigger portions. But the food is seriously unhealthy. It is big skin you are eating. Consider yourself forewarned.

This place slaps. Their braised Pork knuckles are tender and its skin melts. For the price of $9.99 with good portions it's well worth. Service was fast so didn't really have to wait. 5/5

Food is yummy. I like they weight the food so it is fair and square. Service is prompt and friendly. It is located in the food court. The stall is tidy and clean.

This is the second location of Hou Kee Chinese Bistro located inside of First Markham Place food court. I have tried the first one in North York and glad they opened a location in Markham. They specialized in boneless braised pork knuckle bento box that comes with half and egg, some tofu, pickles, and cabbage for $9.99. You can also upgrade it to a meal that comes with pickled radish and mushroom chicken soup or drink for $3 more. The meat is also tender, not too sweet, but the best part gotta be the skin that's full of collagen. The one that I got at fmp seems to be a bit leaner than the north york one, I remembered the north York one seems to give me more sticky lips. The portion at the fmp location also seems to be tad bit smaller. The menu is really limited with just the braised pork knuckle and u can't even just order the pork knuckle without the rice. So really it's just one option. They may have the pork intestine rice coming soon tho. I'd visit again when I crave for pork knuckle.
