Finally gotten the chance to try out this place that finally took over from Frankie's Tomatoes old spot. I came here with my family for Thanksgiving lunch. When I walked in I was like wow! This is not Frankie's at all. Very posh looking. Ambiance is very fine and exquisite. I was led to a private room and there's an actual washroom within the party room, talk about design thinking/thoughtfulness. The food is decent and quite technical. And some of the ingredients used were quite tasty and refined. However I find the flavour a bit rich for my flavour profile. Overall the service is very good.

This place wants to be high end. The decor is nice and everybody gets a private room. But That's all I have to say that's good. First the price of the food is kinda on the low end, that had me worried and rightly so as all the dishes were at best average and maybe even below average As was the Cantonese chow mein, it was below average and comparable to the Mandarin restaurants. It didn't taste authentically Chinese. The noodles underneath the toppings were soaked with sauce and there was no crispy noodles that make a chow mein. Secondly, we made reservations and arrived promptly on time but still had to wait over 50 minutes. Now, I understand if the table that was reserved needed to be cleared but I saw literally 3 groups of guests go in that had the same number of people as us. I guess favouritism for your friends is alive and well at this restaurant But In my opinion, there is no room for that type of behaviour anywhere especially in today's time period. Nevertheless, I won't be back anyways. Service was fast and the decor is nice which is why I upped it to 2 stars Otherwise 1 star for the food And 1 star for the fairness or unfairness at the front. Don't bother coming here unless you know them well, then maybe you will get seated with or without a reservation. No thanks for me I will take my business elsewhere.

This is a swanky new Chinese restaurant located at the old Frankie Tomato space. Extensive renovations have made the space unrecognizable from those buffet days. Upon entering you will see a main reception desk and unlike most other Chinese restaurants you won't be able to see the tables as each table is enclosed by 3 partitions making conversation much easier but you do feel enclosed from a more traditional dining experience. The environment seems almost futuristic. Staff walk by frequently so service was actually okay. Prices for food is very much at the higher end. There is no early dim sum prices (ie order before 11 am). We were there for dim sum and it was just okay. Nothing remarkable. The har gow order comes with 5 as opposed to the regular 4. They have a steamed beef ball that had cheese in the middle with a bit of truffle(?) on top? Was meh. I would be curious to see what a dinner experience would be like but first impressions were 'wow' for the environment but 'meh' for the food...at least it was for the dim sum.

Beautiful interiors with almost everyone having a private dining area. You feel the fancy in this place as you walk the maze of hallways to get to your spot. The food though, is a bit of a letdown. Not bad, just not different despite the interesting names. And for those prices, you definitely expect elevated and new tastes. This place is streaming with people so I may be the minority here. But it's a pass for me.

Solid dim sum in a unique layout that focuses on private dining rooms. Had dim sum and it was generally a good experience but the lines are crazy. Showed up at 11am hoping that it would be quick and it was still a 45 minute wait. Which isn't bad since we tried a few weeks ago at 1pm and it was a 2 hr wait then. The location is huge for those that remember Frankie Tomato's (RIP). Unique to this restaurant is that they built a labyrinth of private rooms that have one to several tables. I'm told there is a larger dining space but there was a group booking for it. Food wise the portions are large and they try to make them unique where they can. There was a shrimp dumpling dish that was basically a har gow but it also had smoked salmon which was unique. Another was a beef dim sum that had cheese inside (different). There was a puff pastry with cream that didn't feel like dim sum at all. The Yee mein has a decidedly different take and was in a big bowl under what was a soup or crab meat. Basically I would say the normal dim sum offerings were on the good sign of standard and common. While they had some unique or "with a twist" items that were interesting. Fairly reasonably priced for dim sum with this much adventure and a higher end environment.

NEW Super Luxurious Chinese restaurant, Luna Private Banquets 金樽覽月 just dropped where Frankie's Tomatto used to be! The restaurant is made up of individual private rooms inside, with a minimum spending per room for dinner as follows: 16-20 people, min. $2288 10-12 people, min. $1288 6-8 people, min. $888 Our group of friends had a chance to try out some recommended items, and the manager supersized 1.5x for some of the dishes, so everyone gets to try all items. Items we really enjoyed: - Plum Juice Jelly Cherry Tomatoes - Crystal Pork Terrine - Jumbo Tiger Shrimp with Salted Egg York (Golden Sand Style) - Golden Fried Rice with Eel - Fujian "Lor Mee" Braised Noodles

This is an absolute amazing new restaurant! Nicely decorated with modern luxurious decor. Each table is in it's private room with privacy to enjoy your meal with your family and can chit chat freely with privacy. Seats are comfortable. Whether you come in 2, 4, 6 or more, you still get your own privately divided room. The food is cooked perfectly and fresh. The flavour is on point. Not overly salted yet you feel the taste is just right where you feel healthy and clean every bite. Tried their dim sums and I would definitely come back to try more of their dishes. I enjoyed every dish. The supervisor advised that their dinner is also worth trying. I over heard the people waiting in line said they had to call 2 weeks in advance to get a reservation. Be sure to call ahead to make reservations.

My family wanted to try this new place and it was during their soft opening. They have a lot of things to work out. The food was hit and miss. For example the beef had cheese inside which is interesting but we believe the cheese tasted like kraft singles. The spare ribs had an odd flavor we believe it was type Of pumpkin they had added to it that threw it off. The staple condiment of mustard was completely a surprise because it tasted like French's yellow mustard. With regards to the service, the staff does need some training, they are inexperience; however, they are nice and we can see they were trying. Hopefully they can get their kinks out during the soft opening

My party of 8 had dinner during their soft opening and opted for the 8 person meal ($888). There is much room for improvement in terms of service and flavour of the food. The appetizers, eel fried rice, steamed fish, and Fujian noodle were the best dishes of the night. The other dishes were mediocre, repetitive in ingredients, and were not served hot. As for service, they really need to train their staff to be more attentive, to split the food for their guests, to change out the plates etc etc that you would expect for a private banquet. While the rooms were intimate and nice, it was difficult to flag down the staff. There is also a washroom which was convenient. Overall, not bad for a soft opening but I would wait for them to sort out the kinks before coming back again.

July 2, 2025 marks the soft opening of Luna Private Banquet. From the time opening the door, the service is amazing. I went back out and saw them opening the door welcoming customers with a friendly smile. The venue is so big and comfortable, with individual rooms where you can have privacy with friends and family. The har gwa is by far in my opinion the best in Toronto. The right size and not too soft. The Luna soup dumpling, the soup was amazing. The Thai style crispy vegetarian chicken was very tasty! I will definitely be back to try other dim sum items and dinner!
