Hidden gem! Sakura Sushi is a small mom-and-pop Korean Japanese restaurant tucked away in a strip plaza. I've driven past it for many years but didn't notice it before. I wish I would have known about it sooner. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted immediately with polite hospitality and given menus. We ordered bento boxes and were pleasantly surprised by the prices and portion size! The dinner bulgogi bento #6 came with miso soup and salad, 4 pieces of nigiri sushi (3 salmon, 1 shrimp), 5 pieces of sashimi with shredded daikon, bulgogi with cabbage, carrots and rice. The earlier menu salmon teriyaki bento came with a miso soup, 6 piece spicy salmon roll, 3 piece California roll and rice. The salmon had a decent amount of sautéed cabbage underneath. For $1 dollar more we got salad. I think the dinner menu offers much more variety and would recommend it. (18). Also usually the teriyaki or bulgogi in a bento is on top of a bunch of bean sprouts or onion filler but not at this place! Their bentos included real sushi choices and not just California roll pieces. This was a nice discovery. Had no expectations and was pleasantly impressed. It's exactly what I like. The owners are friendly. Prices are very reasonable here.

A mom and pop hole in the wall restaurant, it could probably fit 20 people max. They've changed the decor and now have table cloths for each table. Prices have gone up a bit for their bento box which is about ~$15+ and their service have slightly gone up over the years. I had a bulgogi bento box which includes miso and salad. Everything taste fine, but the sushi isn't that remarkable and the rice breaks apart a bit too easily. I still come here every so often with my grandma to support local and also to check the small changes they make to keep up with other establishments.

Small sushi joint with friendly staff! We called ahead to make sure there was space, and sure enough there was. It seems like the majority of their customers come for takeout orders. We got the sushi boat combo that includes miso soup and salad. The sushi tasted pretty good, with a good portion of sashimi in their rolls. It's nothing particularly amazing compared to what I've tried before, but I think everything is a great price! I'd definitely recommend coming by for a quick lunch or something, the staff are super sweet! [This review is from before the pandemic]

This is the closest Japanese sushi restaurant to my office and I love their food! They have really cheap daily lunch specials which are packed with food. I get their bulgogi bento and albeit they are a Japanese restaurant, their bulgogi tastes exactly the same as some of the Korean places I've gone to. I've also had their spider roll and black dynamite rolls and they are equally delicious. The seating area is small and divey. The inside is like a lot of small hole in the wall sushi places. The owners are very nice and service is quick and polite.

True mom and pop shop, literally. It's a small restaurant with not many seats, tucked away in the Warden/Steeles plaza. Selection for sushi and boxes is quite diverse. There's also udon, ramen and even pork bone soup. I had a sushi bento box, sushi roll and chirashi. Prices are very reasonable. The portion is a bit on the smaller side, compared to most sushi places.

A quiet and small Japanese restaurant tucked in the warden and steeles plaza. They had many lunch box options without sashimi for 8.95 and daily bentos with sashimi for 9.95 and up.All bentos come with a salad and miso soup. They also offer pork bone soup for 7.95. I ordered the lunch bento A - tempura (2pc shrimp, 1 pea, 2 yams, 1 pumpkin), 3 pc maki, bulgogi. The tempura batter was delicious and very crispy. The bulgogi was very flavorful and not dry at all. I feel like there couldve been more makis but overall very satisfied and would come again.

Came here for dinner on a friday night at around 7pm with a group of 3. It's a very small restaurant but it doesn't seem to get too busy. I got the sushi udon, but I didn't want the sushi so they offered to replace it with california maki rolls. The udon was pretty good; mild soup flavour and chewy udon noodles, nothing out of the ordinary. The california rolls tasted kind of stale ...there something was off about it. Def not the best sushi out there but the price is quite cheap and its also not too busy. So if you're looking for a quiet little sushi joint that's also cheap, this might be the spot.

?? @ all the good reviews here. I honestly feel bad for leaving a negative review since it is a mom and pops place but why waste money on bad sushi? We got the love boat which came with a variety of sushi, sashimi, 6 pieces of California roll and 6 piece spicy salmon for ~$35 and also a bento box with teriyaki chicken for ~$12. The first piece of eel sushi I ate was scorching hot. I kept hearing a microwave in the background so I'm pretty sure the eel and the chicken were just microwaved. The rice itself was way too soft and mushy and the temperature of the rice was too hot. The fish was below par of even an AYCE place which is rather disappointing. The salmon was slimey and the butter fish was way too fishy. For over $60 I should've just stuck to my go-to sushi place.

Never judge a book by its cover! The outside and inside of Sakura Sushi looks fairly dilapidated and in much need of a makeover. However, the quality of food and price more than make up for it! A tasty $11 shrimp tempura dinner bento box was amazing! And definitely rivals (and beats) most other Japanese restaurants that charge twice as much. This comes with miso soup, salad, sushi, shrimp tempura, and rice. All of which were fresh and delicious. The spicy salmon rolls were some of the best I've ever had! They put on small fried noodles (?) that give the roll a nice little crunch. The spice gave it a nice little kick and the salmon really stood out. For dessert I got deep fried bananas, which were pretty good and a nice end to the meal. My sister got seafood udon and upon stealing a spoonful I can tell you that I was very surprised with how good it was. The soup base reminded me of some of the udon I got when I was in Japan, so I'll have to get it next time! There was also quite a bit of seafood for the paltry $8.50 that it cost. Overall, the food was delicious and the prices were almost too low. Sakura Sushi has won me over, I'll definitely be back!
