Last Wednesday, my friend and I were talking about Dairy Queen ice cream cakes. I ended up pulling up my DQ app while we were talking and noticed that the crumblin' cookie dipped cone was listed as an item on the menu. That's weird. When this flavour first came out, I couldn't get it at any DQ near my workplace. I decided to try it one last time. After work last Wednesday, I drove over to this DQ Chill to see if this flavour was there. It took roughly fifteen minutes to casually drive over here. This DQ is located in a plaza with a bunch of eateries and businesses that I'd love to check out when it's not a soggy, rainy day. I had no problem finding a spot to park my car. I walked in. A female staffer greeted me. I asked about the crumblin' cookie dipped cone. She let me know that it was seasonal and it wasn't available anymore. Bummer. I felt like a sundae. I got my usual, which is a small strawberry sundae. What's cool about this store is that it's also an Orange Julius. I have fond memories of getting an orange drink when I was a little kid with my mom. There used to be an Orange Julius in Simpsons (I am dating myself, but we've lost four big department stores over the decades and this memory is happy), downstairs where the groceries were. My mom would also get me a hot dog. It explains why I like hot dogs to this day. Anyway, I got a medium orange drink. I was excited to have one. I couldn't tell you when I last did. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. Two female staffers were working on my order. One made my strawberry sundae. It looked yummy. I took a photo of it while both of them worked on my orange drink. I thanked both of them when both items were ready. I took them and headed into my car. I had my sundae first. I like the real strawberry slices in the strawberry sauce with soft-serve ice cream. It hit the spot. It was delicious. I sipped my orange drink as I drove home. It tasted exactly how I remembered it. It was full of tangy, sweet orange flavour. It was cold. I was that four-year-old kid again, enjoying a cheerful drink. The menu had hot dogs. I may need to return to relive my hot dog memories. This DQ does not have a drive-thru. It does have a small patio, which is perfect now that the weather is warming up. You can also dine with, but seating is limited. I'll be back. (212)

I quite liked my experience at this DQ. I haven't been since I was a child, so this was a nice nostalgic experience. The interior is quite small but has some tables for seating. I ended up getting the cookie dough blizzard and it's just as how I remember it. Very sweet but very nice! I'm already thinking of the next time I want to swing by to try another blizzard.

Your typical DQ location with less than attentive employees, high school kids waiting outside ,etc. Went in for an ice cream as it was unbearably got outside. This place is getting expensive as a fudge sundae was over $5. Overall, nothing special. Would rather go to McDonalds for an ice cream.
