# Turkish Shashlik Kebab – Authentic Turkish Cuisine in Mississauga, Ontario

Turkish Shashlik Kebab is a renowned restaurant located at 1125 Dundas Street E, Unit 10, Mississauga, Ontario. We visited here on a weekday for lunch and ordered "Baba Ganoush with freshly baked bread", "Lamb Shish" and "Mix Doner Platter". I loved how the doner meat was lean and cooked to perfection; flavouful without being greasy. The Lamb Shish was tender and nicely marinated. Hummus and Baba Ganoush are made fresh in-house. Our bread came out half burnt and when the chef found out about it, he served us a new one at no extra charge. The restaurant itself is spacious and comfortable, with a semi-private area downstairs that's great for events or gatherings. The staff were warm and welcoming, and parking was easy with several spots available right out front.

What phenomenal food!!! Absolutely love this place so I actually went here to eat when this place was fairly new and ever since then it's been my go to for Turkish food. Everything is so fresh, delicious and perfect portion size. Inside the restaurant is nice they tried to make it fancy but I would say it's a mid tier looking place. We ordered the mixed pide which was delicious it's just like a pizza but a Turkish one lol. Go refer to the menu for further description if you haven't tried it. Next was the Iskander kabab which was full of flavor and the portion was great. I also ordered liver on the skewer which was yo die for. The salad was super fresh and baklava was a perfect end to a great meal. I have taken togo a few times and found the food very consistent which is great. The service and the servers are both great. You may want to check before going there on a busy/weekend night. Lots of parking but it is a busy plaza. Pricing is pretty standard to similar restaurants nearby. Definitely go here if you want a warm delicious meal. There is something for everyone.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while but I'm never in the area (or very rarely in the area) so when I was there recently, I knew I had to stop by. There is lots of seating + lots of parking space. They have a lot of staff working though wait times to get the food is a little long. I ordered the chicken shish, which I found very delicious and portion was very generous (I couldn't finish all by myself). I liked that they served naan with dips while waiting for the meal. It was served fresh and hot. The food was also served hot and the presentation was nice. Lots of salad. I would prefer to have bulgur over rice. Chicken was flavourful but slightly dry. Overall, I liked it regardless and would come back for more. A little pricey but it is similar to the other Turkish restaurants in the GTA.

I've seen tons of advertisements on social media about this establishment. Been wanting to visit for a while. Finally had the chance to when a couple of friends came into the city. Restaurant is located in a strip plaza on Constitution and Dundas. Exterior is nondescript but the interior is styled with modern furniture. There are two levels. Basement offers a dining hall that fits approx. 50-60 people. Wait staff are very friendly and kind. Between three of us, we ordered mixed Pide loaded with ingredients and the assorted meat platter. There was more than enough food to go around. Additionally, each table was served two dips; one medium spicy and the other, a yogurt base accompanied with freshly baked bread. The bread is oven fresh, light and airy. These guys outdid themselves on the food. The platter included a variety of meats; chicken kabobs, lamb kabobs, meat skewer, wings, chicken/lamb/beef doner, salad fixings, thin crust pizza looking meat bread and bulgur. It was all so delicious. The cuts of meat were lean, juicy and tender. By far one of the best spots to get your protein on. I will certainly be back to try some of their other dishes. While there, employees were taking pictures and videos of freshly prepared dishes to showcase on their social media pages. We had the opportunity to witness rare tenderloin get cooked in a cast iron right before our eyes in melted butter prior to being served. The scent engulfed the entire dining area. Even when full, we appreciated the scent. So glad to have tried the food here because it was excellent! Can't wait to return!

I hardly ever come in this direction but a quick Yelp search brought me to this highly reviewed restaurant. I immediately knew I had to get the platter which basically had everything! In addition, I ordered the 4 dip combo! Although some of the meats could've been even more moist, overall, they were still well marinated and flavourful. The bed of bulgur was delicious as all the juices from the proteins and veg soaked in. The grilled peppers were SPICY! You know when you play Russian roulette and one is gonna get you? Well they all got me real good. The service was friendly and efficient. I waited just a bit for everything to be prepared and by the time I got home, the food was still warm. I'd definitely return if in the area, but if you live/work nearby, it's totally worth a visit!

I don't usually give a full 5 stars, but I think this establishment earned it. I came for a sit-down late lunch with my parents, sister and kids and while the pictures on the menu were nice, they didn't compare to the real thing. Between the 6 of us (4 adults and 2 young kids), we ordered 4 dishes and still had a box of leftovers to take home. All the meats were cooked over a charcoal grill to keep the meat juicy and tender. The dishes were served with rice, salad (red onions, cabbage) and grilled tomato and jalapeno pepper. Two of our dishes came with baked bread - this was more like flat bread and the crunch was so good, it was served with 2 dips (yogurt and something else). We ordered the following: Lamb Shish ($27.99) - the chunks of lamb were well seasoned and the meat was super juicy, not gamey at all. Kofte ($22.99) - My 7yo ordered this and it was a great choice. The veal and lamb meatballs were well seasoned and not salty, and my kids gobbled it all up! Chicken Shish ($20.99) - the chunks of marinated chicken breast were thick and cooked thoroughly without being dried out. Shashlik ($34.99) - this Turkish-style marinated veal sirloin was probably my least favourite, the thinner pieces of veal seemed less juicy or tender compared to the other dishes. I did enjoy the cooked veggie sauce that was put on top of the veal (a creamy mix of cooked spinach, onion, mushroom). I know the prices seem steep, but you do get what you paid for. The restaurant is located in a plaza right on Dundas (by Dixie) and is kept nice and clean with comfortable chairs. The bathrooms were down a flight of stairs and it seems like the basement can be rented out for a party or can accommodate large groups. My only complaint is the drinks - when I asked for water, the waitress brought me bottled water. However, I ended up ordering hot water to circumvent from having to pay for water. Everyone agreed that this is a great place to dine and we will surely return in the near future!

Review is for takeout. Called with in the area and was told that my order would be ready in 15-mins! And they weren't wrong. :) They allowed me to substitute the rice for bulgar that came with the Chicken Shish. I always eat rice, so I wanted something different! While they were packing up the order, I decided to order baklava as well. Order came with 3pcs, but pic on menu shows 4. To be fair, menu doesn't specify how many pieces an order comes with. No biggie, but FYI...in case you're expecting 4pcs as well. Chicken Shish was under $20 and honestly, it was a generous portion. Definitely good for 2, regular eaters! Bulgar was soo good - glad that they accommodated me. In comparison to the Greek that I'd normally order from, the Chicken Shish is a tad cheaper AND it comes with more meat! So it is better value. Chicken was nicely done - not dry. If you're hankering for grilled meats, this place is a safe bet!

I came here on a Friday night after seeing someone rave about it online. I was in the mood for some meat cooked over a fire, and boy did this place deliver. The ambiance of the place seems slightly at odds with the price; it looks like a Lazar on the inside but their prices are way more premium, with very few things under $20. The service here was also kind of mid. No explanations were given about the menu nor any recommendations given. No questions about allergies, and when the food came there was no explanation of what anything was. It would have been very helpful, as we ordered the platter with everything. The menu says it serves 2, but it could easily serve 4. The food tasted incredible, full of that fire grilled flavor with just enough seasoning. The yogurt dip was phenomenal. We were able to take it home and stretch it into several additional meals.

A casual-family restaurant Their hospitality is amazing compared to other Turkish restaurants. Enjoyable Atmosphere and nice family average affordable restaurant. Love their organized visual menu and the food is very tasty, with high-quality meat and food. Very attentive staff, we do ask for more appetizers, rice as portion and bread they never say no! Or ok but we will charge more!! For sure I will come here again Washrooms and floors are well maintained and very very clean!
