The premium menu has additional cuts of meat and are all nicely marinated. Also good options for sushi and sashimi considering it's not a sushi spot.

It's been awhile since I've been to Chako but they've really stepped up their game in the kbbq world. They now have 2 menus you can pick from. The regular menu or a premium menu which includes sashimi, AAA steak, etc. My partner and I opted for the premium menu to try out the other items. The quality of the meats and food served here is good now. Service was great. Our server was always attentive. Food came out fast. You can order through a QR code now and everything is tracked online. We celebrated a birthday, so they gave us a complimentary mango pudding. Overall, I'm impressed with the upgrades that Chako has to offer now. But the prices also raised significantly and we ended up paying $62 per person. They also automatically add 12% service charge to your bill.

We came here for a friend's b-day party. It was week days and not so busy. Friendly staff. Lots of parking. The total bill includes the tip already. Lots of meat and vegetable options. Love the food

Chako has improved significantly post pandemic! Food is pretty good, but very pricey. $308 for four adults and two kids under 10. (Gratuity included). Very strict on uneaten food, even if the food is too fatty! Other than that, a good variety of meats and sushi. Cool washrooms, bidet and automatic features!

I haven't been to Chako since 2018, as I assume like everyone else who enjoys KBBQ, has found other places to try and fall in love with over time. When branching out to other KBBQ's and JBBQ's that I won't mention by name, we kinda put Chako on the back burner as the 'Basic KBBQ.' And I think Chako might have picked up on that. This isn't the same basic KBBQ as it was years ago .... At least ... Not the Richmond Hill location. My closest location is the Midland/McNicoll one in Scarborough and I remember that one always being so grimey. Besides the point, Chako has caught up with the times and now offer a 'Premium' package, which from the top of my head adds a steak I believe? (which actually looked nice when i saw someone's order pass by my table), and most noteably and what made me go to other KBBQ/JBBQ's, pork belly. I was shocked. The interior also got a bit of a renovation. But my memory is a bit hazy what the Richmond Hill Chako used to look like, as it was never my main go to location. Bathroom is fancy though, if that means anything to anyone lol I got the 'Classic' option, and I can't really put a finger on the price since I had gone during the holiday season, but my holiday price was $39.99. I am unsure what the regular price is, but I can't see it being THAT much cheaper. Long are the days where you verbally order what you want, as everything is now done through your phone via QR code. Thank God. I wish a certain popular JBBQ would pick this up already ... They told us to order from only 1 phone (i had gone with a group of 3), but even after ordering from 2 different phones, it didn't make much of a difference anyways, we still got our orders. I had gone twice in one week to this Chako location. Once on a Monday and then a few days later on the Friday (yes, it was that good). Friday was certainly the most busiest where I was worried we would have to wait for a table, which we did not. But the parking ... Omg. I drove in circles on the rainy Friday night looking for a spot. Here's a tip, park behind Destiny. It's better than parking closer back to the main road and having to walk. The Monday on the other hand, understandably was not as busy and was very easy to find parking. I had called before dining in on the Friday, wanting to do a reservation for 3, but was told a reservation was not needed and could just walk in. I believe they only do reservations for bigger groups tbh. Service on both days were the same. Our food orders came out just slightlyyyyy slower on the Friday, but nothing too inconvenient. Meats were great quality, better than what I had remembered and the marinade was still the same as it was back in 2018. Meats and veggies were fresh and I believe the miso soup is made to order because they always came to our table piping hot. It was overall a nice experience and has changed my view on Chako! My husband had ordered a mojito and I got the pina colada, they were both mid. Would not recommend. I had paid with debit/credit on both days and be mindful of the 12% tip that automatically gets added to your bill. Service was top notch, so I had no complaints. I have yet to see if the Scarborough location has also taken this over haul of an update, but I don't know why I'm kinda afraid to find out ...

This Korean-Japanese all you can eat table BBQ place has better quality ingredients than you might expect. All the items for grilling were of pretty good quality - even the seafood, which was quite fresh Besides stuff to grill, there's also Korean-style sides (ban chan) to snack on. The radish (pickles) is good, the salad decent and the fried tofu, beansprouts and kimchi are okay (I didn't try the edamame) The only disappointing category of items (at least for weekday dinner) was the sushi: it wasn't fresh and fell apart easily. The lack of dipping sauces also prevents this place from truly hitting the spot - while an annoyance for the meats, which at least are pre-marinated, the seafood really suffers since it is plain (well, you get soy sauce, but that's really nothing) The dessert was surprisingly good - both mango and green tea ice cream. Both were creamy and pretty flavourful. Green tea was slightly better Service also is lacking, as it's not always easy to get staff attention and they are not proactive in the slightest. Luckily they levy a 10% service charge, which fits the service level You get 10% off if you pay by cash

Your good ol' Korean bbq place. Nothing fancy and nothing beyond affordable. You're looking at $27 dollars with tax and tip for a late night kbbq run. The good thing about this place is that it's big and most people have already made their trip here. They would have either came back because it's cheaper than its neighbour Japanese bbq or because they genuinely just have a craving for kbbq. Regardless, their foods main focus is quantity. Lots and lots of meat that may or may not be of high quality. Just masses of meat and nothing else (if you're doing the lunch or late night). The dinner menu offers you more choices that includes sushi. This place loses two stars because of the quality of the meat and because they never have their prices posted anywhere. I always try to look at their website or yelp and honestly, it's a real struggle. I have added a picture to this review due to my own frustration. Parking is also NOT free now. I'm not sure why it was implemented but you'll need to provide them with your license plate number for parking in order to receive the free parking and avoid it being towed. It's really a bit obsessive if you ask me considering that it's not really downtown Toronto here!

Terrible, terrible, terrible. It used to be one of our favourite Korean-BBQ AYCE place to go to, but now we would much rather go elsewhere. You would think that due to the COVID situation, there should be improvements to the restaurant when it comes to cleanliness but hell was I wrong- the tables were still oily as f*** and the washroom was just... (i would much rather wait til I get home) The service was just lacking when you had to pay a fixed 10% service charge on the bill. There was barely anyone walking by and if you asked them to check on your order, they walked the other way. When you ordered you food, half of the items were missing and didn't even inform you that certain items weren't available til you asked. The maki rolls didn't taste as good as it used to- the raw fish didn't taste as fresh and it felt as it they rushed it when making the rolls. The ventilation was still as poor, it was so obvious that you were walking into a cloud of smoke, despite that they opened a tiny crack to let the air out. The BBQ smell has been clinging to EVERYTHING you owned including glasses and handbags.
