We finallyyyyy got to try Cà Phê Rang tonight and it was a 10/10 experience! The staff were friendly and greeted us right way. Our table seemed a bit small but we made it work. We ordered the house special Pho, roast pork vermicelli, and the lemon grass banh mi. The pho broth was soo rich in flavour I barely added any extras, just a few drops of hoisin. What surprised me the most was the tenderness of the beef and the brisket was amazzingggg! The roast pork was another masterpiece of flavour we could have eaten a whole bowl of just the pork! And I seen a few reviews complaining about the price of the banh mi, yes it’s $20 and yes most of us grew up with the $3 banh mi down the street (iykyk) but the stars of the show here are the proteins. Just like the beef slices and the roast pork, the chicken was juicy and flavour was 10/10! And as one of Chef Rang’s commandments, “stop crying”. We also ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee which is a must and finished off with the pineapple funnel cake. 10 ⭐️ all around. Highly recommend, will be back!

Walked in on a Monday evening for dinner and was able to get a table right away. The restaurant feels cozy but still a decent amount of seating and the kitchen is open to the dining room. Service is pretty attentive and warm.

There isn't an entrance vestibule so I wonder what they do for winter to prevent cold winds from coming in and freezing everyone once it really dips down in temperature.

The vibe is pretty chill and they were playing a pretty good R&B playlist while I was there.

Had their lemongrass chicken banh mi. The baguette has a crunch to it, but soft once you bite through which I appreciate. The chicken was flavourful, and a bit more on the sweet side. It was a good blend of flavours and textures.

We decided to try Vietnamese food so Ca Phe Rangs was close to our condo.
We ordered by prawn rolls, brisket Pho and soy braised beef banh. The rolls were fresh and came with delicious peanut sauce. The banh was excellent. The meat was flavorful and soft. It was heaped with fresh, crunchy cilantro (dhaniya). The pho however, was very average. The broth did not have the intense flavor that I have had in other Vietnamese restaurants. The beef was soft and fatty which I liked.

Overall, it was a good meal. The waitress was attentive and also checked up on us.

Meal cost us $ 68.

After a long time of pining over the food at Cà Phê Rang, my fiancé and I FINALLY got to try it a couple of weeks ago while visiting Toronto! We are HUGE fans of Chef Rang and our experience was 10000000/10- everything we could’ve asked for and more!

DRINKS: I had the iced Vietnamese coffee which was probably one of the best coffees I’ve ever had. It was strong yet sweet (but not overly sweet- just the right amount) and smooth. My fiancé had the “Rang’s Secret Cocktail” and my GOD was that good. I have no idea what was in it (tasted fruity/tropical, perhaps papaya or something along those lines) but it was also probably one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. I’m not a huge cocktail person and it was so refreshing and delicious.

FOOD: naturally, we had to try a little bit of everything. We got the fish sauce caramel wings (WOW. So crispy and flavorful. The dimension of flavor on the wings was incredible- sweet, tangy, and little spicy, sticky. Just everything you’d want in a wing), the brisket bánh mì (it was my first bánh mì ever and the meat was flavorful and tender, bread was soft but crispy on the outside), the beef + brisket pho (I overcame my dislike of cilantro for this soup- SO GOOD. The broth was light but so flavorful and hearty at the same time) and the fried crispy rolls. Everything was so fresh and amazing!!!

ATMOSPHERE: It is so cute and bright in there! our server was so sweet and made our experience 1000000/10. The entire staff was great. We went early in the day so there weren’t many people there, so the service was quick and our server was so friendly and attentive. They also have merch you can buy there. I left with a full belly and a cute shirt :-) if you are in Toronto and are looking for delicious Vietnamese food, look no further and make it a point to stop in! We can’t wait to come back :-)

I had a relaxing time enjoying the atmosphere, eating delicious food, and making good memories. It was the best meal I've had this year. Although the food seemed to take a while to come out, just as mentioned in the reviews, the kitchen looked busy. If you go with a relaxed mindset, I think you'll be able to enjoy some great food.
