Donatello Restaurant is a hidden gem in Toronto that truly captures the essence of old-school Italian dining. From the outside, it looks unassuming, but once you step inside, you’re welcomed into a warm and charming space that feels like a secret escape. The ambiance is classic and inviting, and the food is simply amazing. Rich flavors, high-quality ingredients, and perfectly executed dishes. Whether it’s pasta, seafood, or steak, every bite is a delight. With excellent service and an intimate atmosphere, we had a fantastic time and highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine.

This was our second visit to Donatello Restaurant this year, and it's easily become one of our go-to spots in Toronto for dinner. Each time the servers were incredibly accommodating, ensuring that our dining experience was top-notch from start to finish. We enjoyed a delightful meal featuring the peppercorn steak, perfectly cooked lamb chops, salmon, tender grilled calamari,and a fresh, flavorful Caprese salad. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. We look forward to returning every time we're in Toronto—Donatello never disappoints!

The only good thing to eat was the appetizer of goat cheese. Chicken pasta was too salty, creme Brule tasted like custard and was cold.  Sitting crammed into a table as the staff run by constantly is not fun. And, they rush you from the moment you walk in so they can flip the table to accommodate walk-ins.. lastly, the table runner is treated like a dog.. very sad ! Poor guy probably gets 1 percent kick-back of tips, that is very obvious. So, don't waste your time going when Toronto has so many more great Italian restaurants to choose from !!

Visited the restaurant today for celebrating a birthday. The staff experience wasn’t great. Had to request for a better spot 3 times before a decent one was offered, even though the restaurant was pretty empty the whole time we were there.

For placing the order the server insisted on placing all the food order at once as they were expecting a big group later. This to me is rushing us to order, eat and then leave.

Tried the eggplant goat cheese antipasti and the mushroom noodles, both were good not great.

Overall perhaps due to the restaurant’s 35 year old history they have built a regular clientele and serve them well. But for today’s higher standards of service and guest empathy this place falls short.

I wish them best but not planning to visit again.
