Service and atmosphere were excellent, exactly what you’d expect from a restaurant perched atop the St. Regis.

Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the setting. We started with the seafood plateau. On the positive side, the oysters were fresh, cold, well sized; shucked with no shell fragments and nicely separated from the muscle. The salmon and caviar were also delicious.

Now for the not-so-great: the tuna was the biggest letdown. It had a strong fishy taste and the texture suggested it had been previously frozen (you can kind of tell from the photo). The crab claws were similarly underwhelming...bland, watery, and lacking any real flavor. The shrimp were soft and slightly mushy, with a mildly unpleasant smell that didn’t inspire confidence.

For mains, the lobster risotto was well executed, though the black truffle didn’t deliver any noticeable aroma or flavor. The lobster itself was a bit overdone, though still within an acceptable range.

We also ordered the truffle mac & cheese with lobster, which was a highlight. It came out piping hot with al dente pasta and a rich, creamy sauce. However, the lobster again was slightly overcooked, especially noticeable since the pieces were quite small.

Overall, the service and ambiance make this place worth a visit, but the food could use some refinement to match the high-end expectations.

One last note, not a complaint, but more of a suggestion: at a “luxury” restaurant, it would be nice to see parking validated or at least a discount on the valet, which is currently $30 for the first two hours and $10 for each additional hour.

The ambiance of the restaurant is 5 stars because of its opulence. Great space, furniture and lighting. However, both food and drinks are ridiculously overpriced with small portions.  It has a very pretentious vibe there and the food selections are lacking and not to mention not very tasty. I reviewed the menu for a long time before deciding because it appears they are more focused on presentation and not great tasting dishes.  They literally have the pasta dish, whole chicken dish and the lobster risotto.  It’s sad to say that after wanting to check it out for so long I was very disappointed.

Louix Louis is on the 31st floor of St Regis. I have posted menus as well. The restaurant has a fantastic view of Bay and Adelaide. The restaurant has a rustic yet modern flair and the food is magnificent. Their Steak is very well done, actually everything is pretty much well done. They always have my usual table and the views are always fantastic. Highly recommended.

The steak tartar was pretty good and well seasoned and the octopus was perfectly cooked and delicious. Their signature chocolate cake was above average -- very dense but thankfully not too sweet. Wished it was more moist and chocolatey. It did come with an exquisite chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream that perfectly complemented the cake  (again, not too sweet). One slice definitely requires at least 3 people to finish. Also, the grilled Brussel sprouts were excellent and the fries were crunchy and tasted better than most restaurant french fries. Beautiful interior design and very friendly staff.

Fantastic restaurant, celebrated my birthday here. The food is top notch, foie gras is creamy and tasty, highly recommend crab salad and truffle chicken. Our server is Monowar, great guy with professional service. Will come again
