The Phoenix is an institution! Always stoked to come here, there’s several bars, multiple levels and rooms, big smoking pit, what more can you ask for?! Please never close down, we need this venue alive and well!

Such a lovely and intimate theatre while having plenty of space. It seems to have a rich history with plenty of well known musicians who have played here. We went to see TR/ST on November 7th, 2024. Got the opportunity to get be close to the stage when we showed up early. Plenty of bars and has a balcony to watch from too. Great experience here and hope to come again!

The Phoenix was established in 1991. The building was originally the German Canadian Club Harmonie, a building for ballroom dancing and oom-pa bands. After that, it became The Diamond Club.  Now, it is a wonderful old establishment for concert goers. Nothing too fancy, but I love it! I'm not a fan of the location, though, as it's in a residential type of area.  So, there is not a lot around it in the way of bars or restaurants. In particular, when you are not driving, but if you are driving, there is a fairly big paid parking lot right across from the venue. The bus stop is not far from the venue if you take the TTC. The venue is big but not too big, so no matter where you stand, you will have a good view of the bands performances, unless, of course, you get stuck behind a very tall person. Lol. But the beauty of standing in a concert venue is you can always move to another spot, bonus!  The sound is great as well. There is a coat check available, but in the winter months, it's not necessarily needed. As it is cool in the venue. I dont believe this venue is wheelchair accessible but you may want to double check with them, perhaps they have an elevator that i never noticed, and it may be challenging for people with mobility issues as there are lots of stairs throughoutthe venue. There are 3 bars inside the concert area and one separate room for those who come early with a bar and some limited seating as well. The venue is mostly standing room. But there is a small fenced off area with limited seating available (folding chairs) for older people who may need it or for those who have mobility issues. There is also a small upper floor that has stairs and another bar, with munchies along with a variety of types of seating. It's not the best view in some areas of the seating on the upper level, though. But if you don't mind that and don't mind being farther away from the stage, it's a great option. There is also an additional narrow seating area on the right side of the venue from the stage, but not accessible to a bar. And also has stairs. There was a recent worry that they were going to close this venue, but luckily, they have been able to keep it going. Let's hope for it will be for many more years to come. Another very much needed venue for music lovers like me to enjoy. Rock on my fellow concert goers!

Smaller stage and standing room, great for hip-hop, indy/rock, and metal shows. Security are friendly, helpful and efficient. Layout of the venue is bad as the entrance is right beside stage left so it is difficult to get inside the concert area if there are a lot of people on the floor. It is difficult to get to the bar and the washrooms are nice but often blocked by people standing watching the show.

The Phoenix Hall was a perfect venue for the Mobb Deep concert. The space was great, with a good vibe and chill crowd. Security was solid, and the atmosphere felt safe and friendly, which was a pleasant surprise for the event’s theme. Overall, it’s a great spot for concerts like this!
