It's one of those free activities to take the kids in the city. Decent parking available on the side streets.

Some animals were outside but it is winter. Quiet place with some picnic tables available in the summer.

I'd come back to have a stroll myself. There are also washrooms and various seasonal activities hosted by the city.

A neat little space to walk around, see animals and some greenery outside of downtown. It's free entry and looks well-kept; I believe you can leave donations too. It is very easy to get here by street car from downtown (506 from College Station).

Grew up coming here as a kid and had the joy of re-visiting it 20 years later. Awesome spot to walk around. Lots of interesting older buildings and sweet animals to meet, all for zero admission. Next time we’ll bring change for the donation box :)

The Riverdale Farm is a nice little farm situated so close to Downtown Toronto. We went there in March with temperature on the positives but in the single digit. We took the TTC, route number 121 from Front & Bay, right across the Union Station and it took around half an hour to reach the River St. & Gerrard St. crossing. From there, it’s a ten minute walk to reach the main gate of the Riverdale Farm.

The farm is run by Toronto Municipality. Visiting hours are 9 am to 5 pm.

Inside the farm, we saw horses, cows, goats, pigs, chicken, roosters, turkeys, sheep, and other animals happily enjoying the winter sun and feeding in the comfort of their confines.

Towards the backside of the farm, there is a large space with lot of benches. We presumed it must be a nice picnic spot in summer time.

The buildings inside the farm have a rustic style. It gives a very country side feeling, despite situated so close to the heart of the city.
