Absolutely beautiful from the atmosphere, the service, to the food! I ordered steak, it was perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff were very friendly and sweet. Thank you so much for the great service and food. We are definitely going back there ❤️

Fantastic service! And the atmosphere is great. Nice wine list and creative cocktails. Enjoyed the Valentines Day Pre Fixe menu. Starters and apps were excellent. We enjoyed the halibut and the elk. Desserts were divine.   We'll be back for sure.

Our experience at Woods was amazing! Not only was the restaurant absolutely gorgeous, but the food was delicious, and the service was spectacular!

I have to say, it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The servers were incredibly attentive, friendly, and had great knowledge of the menu. Everything was quick, seamless, and flawless.

As for the food, it was tough to decide because everything looked so good. We ended up ordering the scallops, the elk tartare, the seared elk, and the elk ragu. Every bite was perfection - each flavour combination was like heaven. The cocktails were fantastic, too; we tried a few and weren’t disappointed!

All in all, we’ll definitely be back and highly recommend a visit!

My dinner was absolutely amazing! Enda makes amazing cocktails and our server David was fantastic. My seared Elk was perfectly cooked and the meat was juicy and tender. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family and I do plan to come back!

Must to visit for meat-lovers!

The service, too, is remarkable—not just flawless, but elevated to the level of a performance. A striking example of this was the change of tableware, which was conducted by two waiters with such synchronization that it felt almost choreographed. It was a seamless experience that added a unique touch to the meal.

Cold Smoked Ontario Elk Tartare
The hand-chopped elk, lightly smoked, offered a complex combination of spicy and salty notes. While the dish was already flavorful, I felt that a dash of finely chopped sweet onion and chives could enrich the flavor profile even further, adding another layer of depth. However, the addition of a quail egg yolk and other carefully selected small details truly made this dish sing. The balance of flavors was a testament to the chef's skill—an unforgettable experience that perfectly combined simplicity and sophistication.

Seared Foie Gras
While the dish was listed as foie gras, what arrived was actually seared goose liver. That said, the texture was surprisingly smooth and tender. The pairing of peach, strawberry, and blueberry compote was well-thought-out, complementing the richness of the liver. That being said, the soft sourdough French toast didn't provide the contrast I was hoping for; something with a bit more crispness—perhaps a crunchy element—could have elevated the dish to a new level of gastronomic intrigue.

Seared Ontario Elk
The seared elk was, in a word, exceptional. The meat was tender, cooked to a perfect medium-rare, and paired harmoniously with seared kale, roasted sunchoke tortellini, crispy oyster mushrooms, and a delightful wildberry jam. Though elk isn’t as tender as deer, it was remarkably tender compared to beef tenderloin and provided a refreshing change of pace. For meat lovers, this dish is an absolute must-try.

Rack of Wild Boar
If I had to pick a standout, this would be it—hands down, the wild boar was a revelation. It was absolutely WOW!
The flavor and tenderness of the meat were extraordinary, likely a result of its apple cider marinade. The accompanying greens and apple salad complemented the rich boar beautifully. While the seared elk was excellent, the wild boar stole the show, and it was an absolute highlight of the meal.

Unfortunately, the dessert didn’t quite live up to the exceptional standards set by the savory courses. While the strawberry shortcake with berry gelato was pleasant, it lacked the flair and innovation of the other dishes. The dessert menu felt somewhat modest, and I was hoping for something more complex or daring to conclude such a remarkable meal.

This restaurant is an essential destination in downtown Toronto for carnivorous foodies. The high-caliber dishes, the exceptional service, and the thoughtfully crafted dining experience make it stand out.

Jag valde från mitten prissatta menyn för vår grupp. Vi åt utsökt dekonstruerad ravioli, grillad tonfisk och lokal nötköttsbiff. Baralternativen är unika och rikliga. De har också kanadensiska specialiteter som älg. Utsökt rödbetssallad . Ledningen (Robin) var en glädje att arbeta med och servitrisen gjorde vår kväll mycket speciell. Jag bokade via Opentable och fick därefter ett meddelande från restaurangen som säger att mitt telefonnummer var ogiltigt. Detta är omöjligt eftersom telefonnumret kommer från Opentable-profilen. Att ha VIP Opentable status innebär att jag bokar många restauranger. Restaurangen meddelade mig och omedelbart avbokade bokningen och bad mig att kontakta dem på ett mobilnummer. Jag frågade varför de avbokade min bokning men de svarade aldrig. Uppenbarligen vill de inte ha eller behöver verksamheten. Jag har nu bokat på en annan restaurang utan problem.

Riktigt bra restaurang, fantastisk mat och utmärkt service. Älgen var så härlig och wascooked mycket väl. Gjorde vår kväll mycket speciell. Skulle starkt rekommendera.

Jag kan bara inte förklara hur illa detta var. Vi satt vid ett pinsamt bord och vette mot baren. Riktigt udda live saxofonkille som strövar omkring. Ett par damer drog märkligt nog upp någon slags ottoman och satte sig bredvid oss (det var inte ens ett bord). Hela stämningen kändes konstig, pretentiös och pinsam. Det är allt bra och dandy, jag kan rulla med en ny upplevelse. Men maten... Oj vad illa det var. Jag började med kammusslorna. Kommer från östkusten, det finns en subtilitet att laga dessa men det är egentligen inte så komplicerat. Det här stället förstörde det nästan skrattretande. Kammusslor på tre sätt. För den som vet är det ett fullständigt fiasko att lägga en fin stekpanna stekt pilgrimsmussla på en bädd av våta mossiga ärtor. Jag gick sedan vidare till älgen Ragu. Vad kan jag säga, jag gillar i allmänhet de flesta livsmedel men detta var i princip oätligt (faktum är att jag slutade äta det). Det var nog i nivå med en burk kock boyardee. Min fru hade den komprimerade vattenmelonsalladen som hon sa var ganska god. Hon tog sedan squashraviolin som hon sa var ”okej”... inget speciellt. Jag ville i princip ut därifrån men vi valde att prova jordgubbs shortcake för desert. Det satte stopp för kvällen precis som förväntat vid den tidpunkten... inte bra. Massiv besvikelse.

Underbar kväll med fantastisk mat. Bra sallader och rödbetor till att börja med, älg och fisk till huvudrätt och s’mores till att avsluta tillsammans med en snabbkurs i lönnsirap uppskattning. Bra service och uppmärksamhet från en helt engagerande värd. Perfekt rekommendation från vår hotell concierge.

Det är sällsynt att du är genuint i vördnad av en restaurang, men jag måste säga att maten, atmosfären, gästfriheten och vinutbudet på Woods är fantastisk. Menyn är genuint unik och varje rätt vår grupp beställde var sensationell. Älg, buffel och pilgrimsmusslor var särskilda höjdpunkter. Grattis alla på Woods, du har en pärla till en plats som jag inte kunde rekommendera högt nog för dig att besöka.

Bartendern serverade mig min martini. På mindre än en minut kom servitrisen förbi, tittade på glaset och sa: ”vill du ha en annan?” Du behöver verkligen skämmas över er själva. Jag gav dig till och med en andra chans och den andra martini var lika liten.

Jag säger att jag inte gör det ofta och har lämnat två recensioner idag och båda är utmärkta. Jag åkte till Woods före en show den andra kvällen. Inte att veta någonting om anläggningen och blev positivt överraskad. Topp service, verkligen. Bästa smutsiga martini, kyckling cordon blue gjordes på ett sätt som gjorde det mer än en komfortmat, men fortfarande lämnade mig nöjd men att veta att jag fortfarande hade en fin matupplevelse. Plats, atmosfär, service, mat. Bara exceptionellt. Hälleflundra ceviche var gudomlig!

Vi var 22 på middag på en fredagskväll. Utan oss hade det varit många tomma bord. Jag började med kammusslor, vilket var OK. Min granne vid bordet hade hälleflundra ceviche och undrade hur det var möjligt att göra en ceviche som helt saknade surhet. Jag såg fram emot mitt rack av vildsvin. Det som anlände var något i storleken på en tunn stormarknad med fläskkotlett. Det var redan kallt och torrt. Den utlovade potatisen med bacon och foie gras var potatismos. Jag kunde inte upptäcka någon foie gras och kanske en liten bit bacon. Spridd över hela plattan som för att fylla i några luckor, var ett rått, oskalat, tärnad rött äpple. Jag kan tärna ett äpple hemma om jag vill ha det. Värre var att min grannplatta hade en hugg som var dubbelt så tjock som min, som fortfarande hade lite saftighet i mitten. Som för att be om ursäkt för det, hittade jag ett "fragment" av en annan hacka gömd under min tunna ursäkt för rack av vildsvin. Jag undrade var det här har sitt ursprung. På grund av temperaturen på maten och de helt otrevliga garneringarna lämnade jag det mesta av maten på min tallrik. Jag var inte intresserad av att beställa något annat och väntade på att se vad servitören kan göra. Jag satt obemärkt av personalen tills det var dags att rensa plattorna, när servitören smidigt avlägsnade min tallrik med ostört mat utan att slå ett ögonfrans och utan ett ord. Inget behov försenar avresan genom att beställa en efterrätt. Jag märkte dock att online-dessertmenyn minskades den kvällen vi ätit till ett val av s'mores eller munkar. Jag tror att nästan hela tabellen övergick till det. Åkte hem och förberedde ett mellanmål.

En underbar måltid på denna Toronto-restaurang som ligger i en mycket intressant gammal byggnad. Min man hade älgmedaljongerna (som han fortfarande pratar om) och jag hade kyckling Cordon Bleu. Oberoende service och servitörer var mycket kunniga om menyalternativ och vinlista. Deras rekommendationer var plats på. Maten presenterades vackert och utsökt. Rekommenderas starkt.

Vildsvin och vildsvin med kanadensisk whisky, vad mer kan vi säga? Servrarna var helt underbara i små fynd på en gourmetrestaurang. Vi åt några mycket fina restauranger i Toronto men servicen och maten här var över toppen.

Den bästa restaurangen vi testade under våra tre dagar i Toronto. Tjänsten är vänlig och professionell. Rätter är "recherch" men inte sofistikerade. Priset är inte för dyrt vad gäller kvaliteten.

För vår kväll i Toronto ville vi besöka någonstans med någon kvalitet kanadensisk mat och blev inte besvikna. Faktum är att min man har sagt att det är den bästa maten han har haft på ett tag, och han arbetar i handeln. Maten var fantastisk och vi kunde inte fel det, vårt enda gripe är att vi inte kunde stanna längre för att försöka klämma i efterrätt! Jag hade kammusslorna att börja, som var fantastisk, följt av ankan. Jag skulle gå så långt som att säga att det är den finaste ankan jag har smakat, riktigt bra. Min make hade vildsvin huvud, som var utsökt. För den som vill ha fantastisk mat, med fantastisk service, i en omgivning, är det här platsen för dig. Jag önskar att vi hade hittat dig tidigare i vår resa!

Jag hade nöjet att äta på en restaurang som jag har menat att försöka så länge, och det gjorde inte besviken! ! Woods har utmärkt service och mat, och atmosfären är vacker! Min middag följeslagare hade en tjusig Caesar cocktail garnerad med en stekt pickle som såg otroligt! Detta följdes av en biff carpaccio aptitretare som var vackert - presenteras och en hälleflundra cioppino maträtt som var ganska generös. Min egen måltid inkluderade seared kammusslor med en frisee typ av sallad; kammusslor var kokta bra, men med tillägg av bacon på toppen, det var ganska en salträtt övergripande. Den seared Ontario älven med sunchoke tortellini var standout skålen! Det var perfekt kokta! Våra servrar var kunniga och uppmärksamma och gav utmärkta rekommendationer! Jag älskar den jordiska inredningen på platsen, och övergripande skulle jag sammanfatta upplevelsen som nyckfull!

Jag vet men vår middag var verkligen den bästa kokta och smakade. Jag hade ankbröstet och min kollega hade älg. Allt var utsökt. Tjänsten kunde inte göra mer för dig. Väntar på dig för allt du vill ha. Det var mer än en måltid, det var en upplevelse! Av den misshandlade banan men inte så mycket. Bara kanske 59 steg ner Clairborne Street och du är där.
