Was craving some shawarma so we decided to check out this restaurant today. It has a bright and cheerful ambiance, which I appreciated. Service was prompt and friendly. Our orders were taken quickly and anything we asked for was provided with a smile and pleasant manner. Now on to the food. We were given complimentary lentil soup, salad, hummus and this really amazing, warm, crispy, delicious bread. It was honestly so yummy, I would've just been ok eating the bread. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and my daughter and husband shared a beef and lamb box. Portions were pretty generous and we had a hard time finishing it, especially given all the complimentary appetizers. The chicken shawarma wrap was tasty and I enjoyed all the flavours. But I do have to say that the chicken was a little dry. The beef and lamb were better, a little more moist and tender. This was a pleasant dining experience with yummy food. I look forward to returning.

POS chicken shawarma was very good NEG slowwwwwwwww super slow they should send staff to the "other" shawarma at queen/bathurst... they have efficient staff, and can handle long lines. This LINE is painful and some employees are doing 'nothing'

Never again! Although our dinners were very good, such a deception was going on re ordering tap water. We were told by the waitress and then by the manager that they were not allowed to serve us tap water b/c the pipes were bad, that it was true for all restaurants in that area, that they boiled the water they used to wash dishes, etc. Obviously a ploy to make us buy beverages rather than just drinking tap water. It was a really hot day and we just wanted water. Finally, we were each given a small cup of water, after promising not to tell anyone. We then contacted the Public Health Inspector Food Safety-Healthy Environments by e/m and inquired about what we were told. Not only is the tap water safe to drink, the restaurant had been cited recently for "significant infractions". Beware!

So delicious. I was confused as to why we couldn't sit at the tables but I think we had to request it before ordering and paying. We ate at the side counter and still had the most delicious meal. A first for us trying.

We dined in, and I'd definitely recommend that. We were greeted with soup and bread -- not sure if takeout customers get that, but it added such a warm, welcoming touch. My wife and I shared a single main, yet each of us was given our own soup, which felt like a thoughtful gesture and a glimpse into the generosity of the culture. It's refreshing to see Iraqi cuisine represented here, given how rare it is in Canada. The service was lovely, and the shawarma plate itself was incredibly hearty -- easily enough for two.

This is an Iraqi streetfood restaurant. It is family owned. This is their third location, soft-opening on 2025-05-24.. Their other two locations are in Mississauga and North York; they have been in business since 2021. During their soft-opening period, they are offering $5 shawarma all day, until 2025-05-31. You can choose Lamb & Beef Shawarma ($11.99) or Chicken Shawarma ($11.99). I ordered one of each. It comes with garlic sauce and pickles. Both tasted really good! The meats were succulent without being overly strong. The service is very good, including the servers for table service. All three locations tend to be busy all day from the moment they open! There is an open kitchen in the front where you can see the rotisseries and watch them make the shawarma. At the back, there is a kitchen that makes Tandoor (or Tanoor), a flat bread. If you dine in, you get a free tandoor and a free small lentil soup, both were quite good. There are plenty of tables for indoor dining. It is quite modern and bright inside, with tones of blue and white. Just inside there is a decoration representing various doors in Iraq. Indoor dining closes at 23:00. After that, there is a window open to the street where you can place and get your order for takeout only. There is no free WiFi (at least for now). The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking and paid parking garage. Review 2025-093

Wow! Flavour punch with a hint of curry and colourful presentation. I had it with the Tanoor bread. So soft with a little pull amazing. I had the Mshakal Tandoor with is basically a vegan falafel with eggplant and their curry sauce called "amba". I loved this and light years better than standard (often bland) falafel. Loving this Iraqi version.

Iraqi shawarma located right across from Eaton centre. It was pretty tasty but a little too oily for me. They had alot of people working. Short wait. Staff were all friendly. Takeout and dine in is available. The inside is beautifully decorated.

I'd just walked out of the Eaton Centre when I noticed (and heard) a very boisterous happening across the street. It turned out to be the grand opening of Alforat, and the party vibe made me want to sample their wares. I opted for the Lamb & Beef Shawarma, which was ready within minutes. It's a pretty good concoction. Everything tasted fresh and the wrap had a nice crust on it from the grill. It's full of tender meat but the problem is meat is about the only thing you taste. If there was a sauce in there, it was so sparingly applied as to become non-existent. The only other ingredient in there was tomatoes, so you wind up with whole bites of just tomatoes, which isn't ideal. Look, it's a new joint still ironing out the kinks. I'll definitely return at some point to give them another try.
