Feels like I've been scammed out of $700 to pay for existing damage. If this is not a scam, it sure feels like one. Rented a car here in May. Got an "upgraded". The car came with a multitude of bumper damage in the front and back and malfunctioning interior electronics. The staff only marked a big crack on the front bumper as pre-existing damage and told us to ignore the rest. I was in a hurry to make an appointment so did not take pictures to document all of this: biggest mistake. We drove this car back after a week without any incidents, then the location decided to more diligently inspect the pre-existing bumper damages. They "found" these scrapes on the bottom of the bumper and blamed it on us. The location manager admitted right there and then that this looks like existing damage and they'll look into the old airport rental logs. I left thinking that's gonna be the end of that since I definitely did not cause this scrape. Then 4 months later, Avis decided to charge us $700 for this. They were completely unwilling to share any investigation results, unwilling to even address the inconsistencies in pre-rental inspection reports and photos. I know I fucked up, I should have assumed the worst and documented everything, but my fuck up doesn't excuse Avis's immoral behaviour. Researching this later, I found out that Avis has no clear policy about what they consider damage like other rental companies such as Enterprise: one inspection report might tell you everything is fine while another will ding you $700 for pre-existing damage. I learned my lesson: Avis will try to muscle their customers to pay for their repair bills even if the customers did not cause the damage, even if their own inspection reports are full of holes and inconsistencies. Learn from my mistake: if you rent from Avis, assume the worst and be prepared. Don't give them a chance to fuck you over too.

I came here on Monday, December 14th to pick up a car that I had on reserve at opening time which was supposed to be 7am. I had a taxi pick me up and drop me off just before the gates and he turned around to leave. What I'm explaining is that this lot has gates to both enter and exit. When you exit you need to be issued a ticket from the office to use to exit. If you don't have one of those unless you break the gate and drive through, you can't leave. It was a good thing my ride did NOT go through the gate at 6:56 in the morning because if he did he wouldn't have been able to leave until after 7:17 in the morning. There were some employees around but nobody could open the office. The supervisor or manager or whomever was not at work so there were several employees without the key waiting around outside as well as one other customer that arrived before opening that wanted to get rolling out of there. I didn't necessarily like that I had to wait for the business to open past their posted opening hours. I get it that something could have gone wrong but when people are waiting for the office to open to get moving out and have things to do it's not a good feeling. It was a good thing is wasn't freezing outside and just chilly a bit. If it was cold and I was waiting outdoors for the office to be opened for almost 20 minutes I would have been unhappy... Still the cars I've rented from here past and present are all in good condition and nice vehicles. This time around I ended up with a Chrysler 200C and I really liked this car a lot. It was good on mileage, the sound system was good and all around it was very comfortable. Next time I come here and there most likely will be a next time I'm hoping they'll be open when they say they'll be open. Not being open on time and being in the service industry is a huge no-no. I'm not one to give rental companies a bad review either... Most of the time I am very happy. Another Budget at YVR airport I've given 4* and the one at La Guardia I've given them 5*. This one was not so great this time around for picking up but for returning it was good.

This was my first time renting a car and the whole process was very easy and stress free. The staff are very professional, kind and quick to get your rental and on your way. The car was in good condition and I will definitely recommend this location to others!

This was a terrible service, I was 44 minutes late due to the traffic and weather to get to the airport to drop off the vehicle. Traffic was atrocious, and all the lady at the counter could say was that I was late. They charged me $35.29 because I was 44 minutes late! Worst ever no compassion they really are out there to get your money and service mean nothing, and the women at the counter really enjoyed the fact that she was going to charge me $35.29 for 44 minutes delay. Don't ever rent from budget they are thief's! Rent from Enterprise or Hertz they are way more honest!

Garbage company to use. Tried to rent car and would not follow there only policies. Billing put a hold on my credit card and it's been 3 weeks and still there. Billing has no clue and lies after lies. Will never use and never reccomend to anyone.
