If we're talking about commuter experience, GO Transit is miles (or in this case, kilometers) better than TTC. Cleaner, less frequent delays, well displayed departure times and more spacious seating. It pretty much operates on an honour system with the occasional fare inspector check here and there in the mornings. It's funny cuz you can usually spot the fare evaders fast walking away from them up and down the train. I do think they could improve it by having more digital signage throughout the trains indicating the stops. At the moment of this review, they STILL only announce train stops via the loudspeaker and depending on the train cabin you're in, the speakers might be muffled or not very clear. As far as payment methods go, I would say using PRESTO card as the preferred method is not so clear cut anymore. The only benefit PRESTO card provides is the ability to set default trips between two GO stops. So if you're a frequent commuter and you always get on and off at the same two stops for work for example, then using PRESTO is convenient. Otherwise, if you're always getting on and off at different stops there's literally no difference between using PRESTO and NFC credit card tapping w/ your phone.

When traveling from Niagara Falls to Toronto, our friend recommended taking the train rather than driving. He earned traffic would be bad, and parking would be expensive. So at his advice we drove about half way to the Oakville station which has trains coming and going every 30 minutes. It was easy to get to, right off the highway, and plenty of parking. To make things a little sweeter parking was even free!!! We grabbed our bags and made our way over to the station. With user friendly kiosks it was easy to buy a ticket to Toronto, and only $9 each way...a great value, especially when you add in free parking! The train was decently clean for public transportation, plenty of space, and even had wifi. There was apparently a bar car with food and drink available for sale, but we didn't look. I'd absolutely use the Go Transit again, and would recommend to friends. It's hassle free, reasonably priced and free parking.

There No customer service anymore ! It used to be a pleasure riding the Go Train into Toronto Monday to Friday . Station personnel to give you any help or advice required . Coffee shop available inside the station a comfortable seat in which you can sit on . All that gone All automated no employees at Bronte Go Station - no help whatsover , no security, elevator not working. And they seating is like sitting on a rock . There might be more trains per hours but everything else has been downgraded . whatever bright spark suggested all these negative changes needs to be fired And Bronte Station is smack in the middle of an industrial area no one around at night - no security - it's a muggers paradise !

Accused of stealing and then basically KIDNAPPED ... I purchased a ticket online and activated it 20 min before my bus arrive. When I boarded the bus, my ticket wouldn't scan and read " This ticket was activated on a different device, or your OS or browser was updated." The driver then took my phone and accused me of using an old ticket to avoid paying. He kept asking where I got the ticket, telling me, "be honest, you have no money" and that he'd still give me a ride. I refused and grabbed my phone out of his hand, but when I turned around to get off the bus he closed the doors in my face and started driving.

Warning don't get hurt on the Go Train their insurance company will tell you they are not responsible even if it is faulty equipment.

Just called Customer Care. Wow! We got a wonderfully helpful gentleman named Ben. There were three of us, in totally silly and rowdy moods. He was totally professional and in control while humoring out silly, some outright ridiculous, questions, reasonably knowledgeable about technical train and track mechanical questions, but best of all, not only knew the presto technicalities, but knew the surrounding public transit systems, including GOST. Since Grey Hound and the Grey-Bruce Air Bus discontinued service to Flesherton, it been outrageously expensive to travel home from Toronto. This is life changing. Generally clean and smooth ride. However, they didn't refund money to me and my bf when it was raining. One day, they delayed and canceled rides for at least 2 hours. I emailed the go train and asked for a refund. I got a email back saying, "our Service Guarantee policy doesn't apply to delays caused by extreme weather conditions, so unfortunately, we are unable to provide a refund for this trip". More was stated before. Along with apologizing after. Unfortunately, they seem to not issue refunds for weather conditions. In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend this train be taken during any weather involving snowfall or rain. Take it only when it's a sunny day. I have attached a part of the email, which I received, that denies the refund and says why.

The terminal station here is at Union Station. I took the Go Transit from Union Station to work. The Go Transit go to many parts of Toronto. You will need to pay attention to the screen and signs when boarding the train. The screen will provide an update on the departing train destination 10 mins prior to the train arrival at the station. The Go Transit is charged by distance. If you have a presto past than the fare would be slightly cheaper. The speed of the train is ok. It doesn't go too fast. Overall, it was convenient train and will get you from one place to the other. The train itself was clean when I took it. I didn't have any issues other than a lady who had medical issues and passed out on the train. But the train attendant came right away to help her and was able to get her off the train very soon to wait for medical assistance. I would say the entire process took about 10 mins. It was good to watch how professional the train attendant was when taking care of situations like that. She was only taken off the train when another attendant bought a wheelchair over. This ensured that she was safe and was able to stand before they took her off the train.
