Upon searching for this North York branch, it could be confusing since there's no concrete google information of it like its Spadina location. BUT it does exist, and it shares an entrance with Shuyi Tealicious. The time I visited for lunch, it was very quiete. There was only one waitress and the service was very slow. As for the food, the four of us ordered a sea bass in a classic spicy broth with some add ons: Chikuwa, mushroom, spam, mushroom, and dried beancurd, and instead of ordering individual portion of rice, we decided to order a big bowl of rice to share. The portion was decent to share amongst 4 people, with each person spending about $28.

On the outside, it seemed like another bubble tea joint with food offerings. Upon walking in, we realized that there was 3 sections to this place, a drinks bar (bubble tea, etc), a hot pot place and other cooked menu. Because my friends and I were hungry, we opted to eat from the cooked menu which served only spicy dishes. We ordered a spicy popcorn chicken and rice to eat and oolong milk tea to drink. FOOD: spicy popcorn chicken - it is named correctly. The basket arrived, I was shocked to find 1/2 of it was red dried chilli peppers and 1/2 small pieces of chicken deep fried in a batter. While I like spicy food, a quarter into the basket and I stopped eating, because I couldn't taste the food anymore. DRINK: oolong milk tea with tapioca, I like the strength of the tea and it had just the right amount of sweetness - it did have less ice, so it was more room temperature, but we found that to be okay. To be honest, we walked in here because it was raining and the actual place next door we wanted to eat at was closed this day. So unless someone suggests to try the hot pot, I probably won't come back.

This location used to be dazzling cafe so the interior looks spot on! However, I had a terrible time with the service. It took a long time to flag someone down with my order sheet, they seem to avoid contact with me (probably because I don't speak mandarin?). There are only two waitresses but for some reason they hang out in the back. When I finally got someone to take my order, they asked me to switch tables. Makes no sense because they did not even use the original table the entire time I was there! They didn't give me any tea for a long time, I had to spend a lot of time flagging someone down again (I think i the tea tastes like passion fruit, pretty interesting). When they finally gave me tea they asked if I wanted to see the bubble tea menu, which I did. But it took me another few minutes before I could flag someone down to order. BTW, the store was not even that busy! I finally ordered the bbt and waited another 10 minutes by which time the food arrived (total of 30 minutes waiting time after ordering). Then I asked where is my bbt order and it turns out the waitress forgot about it- it was made already and was sitting in the counter! I took a sip and realized it didn't even taste like what I ordered (although the label on the cup is clearly what I ordered). I also asked for grass jelly but I got grass jelly and tapioca. I think there is something wrong with their system or process considering it was not even that busy and the restaurant isn't even that big! The food was OK but a bit salty and quite oily. It looks much spicier than it really is. I like that they give you a lot of the sides. But the food was really soured by my experience. Lastly, a slap on the face - they charge automatic 10% service fee and calculate tax on top of the service!
