First time visiting Toronto. It's a Tuesday early evening, the bar was not busy. The bar staff was less than friendly. In fact when ordering a drink I felt like I was inconveniencing the bar staff with a gin and soda order. The bar tender was shorter, fit, very short shaved hair. Made me feel unwelcome and bothersome, he then proceeded to discuss his sexual conquests with the patron who I assume was his friend next to me. Not that that's an issue but when he made me feel uncomfortable in being at the bar anyway. The overall experience was a let down and I enjoyable. Will not be returning.

Pegasus is so lucky to have Simon! He's what makes my favorite Toronto gayborhood bar a five-star review. Walking in during hockey playoff season, it was awesome seeing so many invested in a Toronto Maple Leafs playoff game, not the norm where I come from. I noticed the spacious pool table area as well. In my neck of the woods, pool table areas are nowhere near as spacious. Drinks are affordable and bartenders like Simon and patrons alike, are super friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for a neighborhood bar feel and I have to say it one more time.

This is a great go to casual spot in the village. Looming for billards or an arcade machine they have it in the back with seating in the front for casual drinks and conversation. Be sure to check out what events they have going on from trivia to dirty bingo. Would highly recommend going with one of two of their house beers when ordering a drink. Flying Horse Blonde or Dark Horse amber. Both really good veers and well priced.

As an older guy I find that there are fewer places where I can feel comfortable in the village. This is one of those places. There is a good mix of down to earth guys and gals of all ages and it's a great place that offers quite a lot to the visitor. There is a bit of a stage for karaoke and drag shows surrounded by high top tables and chairs/stools for the show. Like a cabaret bar. There is a big window overlooking Church street which is especially good when the street is closed for some occasion like Pride or Halloween. The DJ is great at making the room buzz with the vibe he creates for the evening. The central bar is large and well serviced by sexy guys and prices are better than anywhere else, which helps us have a little more to tip them with. The back half is all about games. Ping Pong, billiards, darts and poker machines. This is a "Sports Bar" after all. There are usually a few people I know having drinks there and it's a great place to meet up with friends. Very casual, well lit, no attitudes, great place for cruising and having a laugh.

I did not know that it was possible for SUCH a friendly, lovely place to exist anywhere. I swung by to Pegasus for a drink after a particularly long day of flying, security checks, all the rest. It was rainy, so by the time I got to the place I was staying, I was drenched, and unhappy. I sorted out dinner, and then wandered over to Pegasus. If I go out to a bar, I'll usually bring my kindle, order a drink, and read for a spell. This was the perfect place to do it. There was music on, but it wasn't loud and obnoxious. That said, the bartenders were charming and friendly (I went a couple of times, and am saying that the lot of them are a good bunch). They engage the patrons at the bar in conversation, and the patrons chatting to the bartender don't get mad if someone overhears something, and laughs along. Then there's the other people who are there at the bar. SUCH a friendly, lovely bunch of people I've not met in a long time. People try to draw you into conversation, even if you're there by yourself. There are plenty of spaces to hang out if you truly want to be alone. There are single tables where you can take your drink, and be by yourself if you want. But, if you don't mind engaging with others, sitting at the bar is a lovely thing. From start to finish, I felt so welcome and loved. This is the type of venue that is really important for our community. Outsiders are welcome with open arms. Insiders are greeted with cheer by the bartenders and the other patrons. Perfect strangers will sit next to each other, and share a laugh, or buy each other rounds for fun. This is a very special place, and I hope it's there for every time I come back to Toronto.

At 489 Church Street Pegasus is a gay bar located in the heart of Toronto's gayborhood. When walking the street you have to look for it because it is upstairs, second floor, not on ground level. It's clean, orderly neat, and caters to the pool playing gay crowd, having a good number of pool tables. The bartenders are friendly, know what they are doing and the patrons friendly and talkative as well. The age group of patrons is rather mixed from the young, most of whom are pool players to the elderly. There isn't any dancing and it isn't a good place for a pick up, but it is a good place to go with friends, sit back, chat and chill.

Very nice and friendly establishment. Ended up staying to play their weekly Weds night trivia game after being encouraged by some friendly locals to do so. It was a little strange at first (coming from So Cal) that most were so friendly and courteous as it's not like that back home!
