This hidden gem was shared with a buddy of mine. He told my wife and I to try it out. So we did! As I am always in the mood to try different cuisines. This take-out only place is in a small plaza across from Leacock school. The plaza itself is plain looking and the takeout joint is tucked into a small corner on the east end of the plaza. We got there and we were greeted by a lady who is friendly and cheery. We placed our order for noodles and shortly after we got our food. We took the food home and started feasting. Add all the oil and other condiments is a must. My wife highly recommends the chilly oil, very aromatic and not as spicy as it looks. We were thoroughly satisfied with the yummy noodles! And yes we plan to come back soon.

We heard about this place from a friend and figured we would try it since we were in the area. There's not too many parking spaces and the storefront leads you to a basement where a few people are working on making the noodles and dishes. It's a very "hole in the wall" kind of feel though the space is clean and small. Food: Lamb Mo - the lamb was definitely flavorful and fresh. Was juicy and worked well with the harder bun. 4/5. Thick noodle liangpi - comes with some sliced cucumbers, bean sprouts, bean curd cubes and noodles. The sauce appears to be a mix of some salty broth? With some vinegar and sugar which comes on the side. It's not bad. The chili oil comes in a separate container on the side. It's nice that you can add both according to your tastes. The noodles are thicker in width and seems pretty fresh. Overall enjoyed it - 4/5. Sesame Liangpi - noodles, toppings are as above. The addition on the side is a sesame sauce on another container. I really like having another dimension of flavor to the dish - I think it does elevate it though I wish the sesame was a bit stronger since when you mix it with the other sauce it does get diluted. 4.5/5. Price: Very wallet friendly. I think this place is great for a quick lunch. If you need someone more filling - definitely recommend a sandwich with a noodle.

They're still doing takeout only Sesame liangpi was decent. It was normal liangpi with sesame sauce, though the overall flavour was less spicy and less sour than other places. The markup over normal liangpi was only 50 cents. The portion was pretty big.

We got the rouniamo (chinese burger) and a classic cold rice noodle. They taste great. The owner is friendly and the space is small, no seating. Food came out quickly. Great place to grab a bite if you are in the area.

If you've ever heard of Xi'an Famous Foods in New York City, this place does the same thing with less options, but all the most important ones are there. My mom grew up in the city of Xi'an, where the Shaanxi Liangpi and Rou Jia Mo originate, and out of all the places that I've gotten the two dishes in (including Xi'an Famous Foods), they do it the most authentically here. Onto the foods. The Shaanxi (a province in China, includes the city of Xi'an) Liangpi (literally means cold skin, a type of wheat or rice flour noodle) is served cold with two different mix-in sauces, and while I couldn't tell you what they're individually made of, I can tell you that the flavour when both are mixed in is exactly what I remember from my last visit to Xi'an, where street vendors would sell Liangpi with two separate sauce bags. A bit sour, a bit sweet, a bit salty, a bit of sesame, and various other tastes all fuse together into deliciousness. And that's not even factoring in the noodle, which is incredibly springy. I haven't had this level of springyness from any other restaurant this side of the world. The Rou Jia Mo is a kind of sandwich made using a special kind of bread that I'd describe to non-Chinese people as similiar to Pita in texture, though without the air pockets. The meat filling is generally pork, braised in soy sauce and other spices until it's incredibly soft and shredded. In a similar vein to the Liangpi, the last time I had a Rou Jia Mo like this was in China. Not to say places here don't do it well, but they don't do it as similarly. Very fair price for the amount of food you get. There are a couple of tables to sit and eat at, but this is definitely a take-out place so don't expect restaurant style service. I'm giving 5/5 for that only because the woman at the cashier was so friendly and accommodated my request to split the Rou Jia Mo in half, which isn't easy.

This place is OPEN. NOT CLOSED (as of Sep 10, 2019). Had some buns (saucy pork and pulled pork): both excellent. Will go back again to try the noodles!

Yummy and fast take out! Can't wait to go back to get these authentic delicious food items again! You have to go early due to shortage of staff. Once their daily hand made food items are gone, you will have to go back the following day!
