I wouldn't even feed this food to my dog. It is not real mexfood and it kept me on the toilet for a week!

Decided to try Carlos and pepes after many years of disappointing visit (during covid and 1-2 years after, wasn't good). The restaurant hasn't really change, same Mexican ambiance. As for the menu, the reprint it with less option on it. Service is mediocre at best. It's very slow for everything. I didn't even get water refill on my glass for the whole time I was there. We had to call our waiter to prepare the bill. Tedious, and the restaurant is far from pact. It's in fact pretty empty and the outside terrace isn't half full. And there's enough staff to cover everything. As for the food. I tried the tacos dos pisos which is 3 chicken tacos inside a hard shell tortilla that sit inside a soft shell tortiall. It was not bad, but one of the problem is they put a very good sauce but it sit on top of the overflowing lettuce that doesn't stay inside. So result? A very dry tacos. So disappointing meal and service.

Definitely digusting I just came back from here and never I ever been more disappointed from a restaurant.The music was very loud, also my meat was totally burnt so I ate half of my plate and it took me all of my efforts to eat that much. The fries were really greasy and not good plus they mixed up the order of the person who was with me . All of their food is prepare in advance and put in the freezer and just defrost it when the meal as been asked which doesn't give us quality nor freshness. Also the social distancing isn't respected at all at least then 6 feet they were a bunch of 6 persons which who could've been infected . If I could just give 0 star I would do it without hesitation . That's how bad it was. Don't go there to waste your money you'll be extremely disappointed. For my part at least I will never go there again.

Stopped in for some drinks and tacos as Sunday hosts a special for 2$ tacos. Was really craving a michelada and ordered the special listed in the menu which was a michelada and for 2$ extra a shot of tequila. The tequil was good but the michelada itself fell flat and did t have much taste to it other then beer. However if you are craving those typical flavours especially the tomato juice get the " Red Eye" instead much closer to what an actual michelada should taste like. As for the tacos they were pretty good, I had asked the waitress what her favourite was and she suggested the beef so I went for that. Overall there's lots of room for improvement but you can be the judge of that your self.

I genuinely do not understand why this place has such a low rating because both times I've been were excellent experiences. I had the opportunity to try this restaurant in September of 2018. We were a group of 15 loud people arriving at 10 PM on a Friday night, and the waitresses and other staff were AMAZINGLY patient, very knowledgeable of the menu, very accurate in the order. The food was delicious, I had the pork quesadillas and I remember being full after two out of three, which calls for a generous meal. My friend made me taste the pulled chicken enchiladas and it was delicious as well. You can't expect it to be real authentic Mexican food, but it has a certain taste of it, anyways the food is delicious! They have the funniest ritual for birthdays, definitely take your friend there for their birthday, it's fun to watch! The restaurant is huge with a lot of TVs and comfortable seating, but always jam packed so make sure you call to reserve before you show up! Their cocktails are also fun, very colourful and come in a funny little bowl.

2 stars for service, 3 for the food and for 4 for decor. This Carlos and Pepes is brand new, decorated with beautiful colors and ecletic knick knacks. I loved the old wooden doors framed on the wall, the surf board type counter, barber chair, and flip flops hanging from the bar. However, I was not impressed with this new opening, the entire staff needs to get their act together. Service was extremely slow. We had lunch around 12:30 on Friday August 7, place was only half full, we waited 40 mins before being served water and chips/salsa, which we had to ask for. Once the food came along, the portion looked tiny and not what we had in mind. Apparently, their "enchiladas" are just small, soft tacos folded in half. They are not the generous rolls you're supposed to get like EVERY SINGLE picture on Google shows what a true enchilada is. Also I found a piece of bone that was an inch wide in my beef. After complaining to the manager, he had to give us a discount on our meal. Half the stuff was missing on our plate, we were supposed to get salad, beans and sour cream, it all came separately and despite ordering the exact same thing, my bf's dish had an extra touch of garnish, mine didn't. That just goes to show how there's lacking attention to detail in the kitchen. Food was good, although if I compare it to their biggest competitor, I've been to all the 3 Amigos locations many times, service is always fast, they turn tables around quickly, food is cheaper and tastier. Plus, they are also opening up in Laval soon! Won't be going back to Carlos anytime soon - give them time to establish themselves.

First time here. We were four on a friday. We were lucky to arrive early. Quite popular. We had the fajitas and burritos. I find the menu limited. I usually go to the other mexican chain. The rice was tasty but the burrito seemed small. The fajitas were appreciated but those who ordered them. It was fine . The terrace is well located.
