I rented a compact car for one weekend for a short local trip before getting married. On my local trip, I had the opportunity to park in a garage overnight. When we took the car back to Enterprise, the extremely enthusiastic agent said she had to look at the car, but "in private" and there was no need for us to come with her. When she returned she said there was damage to the car. She pointed out a small mark, exactly 2cmx1.5cm. It was tiny, but it would cost us $500. I was shocked. I complained that even if it was a new mark (and I have no idea how it would have appeared while parked in a garage), surely $500 is too much for such a tiny mark?! She said there was nothing she or we could do about it. She also said she had no manager to speak to. We paid it, and it ruined our blissful weekend. As we waited for her to process the paperwork, we then overheard the other 3 upset customers who were standing by. I talked them and discovered that ALL THREE OTHER CUSTOMERS had also been charged $500 for tiny marks on their rentals, exactly the same size as the one on ours. Conveniently, none of the renters were allowed to examine the car with the agent. A bit dubious, no? I never did find out if she got a bonus for her suspicious charges that she was giving to all the customers. I have since discovered that Enterprise has a measuring-template and they only charge customers if scratches are bigger than the designated size on the template. However, the mark was far smaller than the template, and the agent never used the template to show us. It just doesn't add up. From now on, I regret that I will no longer be able to book with Enterprise, and I will let my friends know of the incident so that they do not rent with them either. BUYER BEWARE. ** since I reviewed this particular location, I have learned of THREE similar incidents with the same employee. **

We have rented from this specific Enterprise a few times and have never had any issues with the car or the staff. Very friendly and helpful staff. They give a discount to McGill students which is great! Will continue to rent from here and give them my business.

I rented a car for the weekend at the Enterprise location in downtown Montreal (Delta Hotel) and specified that I would be returning it Sunday evening after hours as I was working Monday morning. I was told this was not a problem and to simply park the car at a specified location in the hotel garage and drop off the keys through the office mail slot upstairs. I must admit that I had a funny feeling leaving the car there as the garage was eerily empty at specified location. It did not feel safe to me. Sure enough, two days later on Tuesday morning, I received a call from Enterprise telling me that I would be charged several hundred dollars for damage to the car! The trunk had been pried open by vandals! I protested and asked to see the surveillance cameras to prove my innocence but was told this was not possible. I was also threatened with a negative strike to my credit rating if I did not pay - this is shameful. I will never return.
