So ! Essence, I'm used to go very often since my work is close to this Business restaurant. You can find various plates, but the menu is not various, which is not so bad. Last thing you want is to lost yourself on a quantity of choices. This time, I took a Tuna Poke Bowl. Was great plate, nothing really to say about it. The only concern is more about the service. It's my perception, but i had a feeling that waitress were filling my glass of water every second. It's not the first time I have this feeling at this Restaurant. It's not a big deal either, just the fact that i did not feel this place really private. Also, last time orders take a whiiiille to come. This one take roughly 30 min. which sounds very long (with only glass of water). Well, i would recommend only for a business lunch but you should order as fast as you can !

Went to Essence for a quick lunch last week. The place was packed! Considering the amount of people though, the service was still great. I had a Caesar salad to start and lobster spaghetti as my main. I honestly didn't expect too much but the spaghetti was surprisingly very good. I would even say it is comparable to the lobster spaghetti from Joe Beef except the portion is way more generous. I would probably come back just for that pasta!

Terrible service : we were a group of 16, we called they said we can't make reservation for the terrasse. So we went there a group of 8 at first and said the other 8 will arrive shortly. The girl said no, you should be all (16) here now at the same time, and can't guarantee a place for us, although the terrasse was empty !! We negotiated 10 minutes with her to finally sit. Good plate decoration, but prices are high regarding the quality of food served

very high end French restaurant. We order a set dishes for company activity. it including 5 dishes and takes more than 2 hours to finish.

I chose this place for my work birthday lunch. We had a great service and the food was also amazing. A little bit of everything on the menu which was perfect for everyone's personal taste. My co-workers and I would definitely return. I chose the shrimp stir-fry. There was a good amount of veggies and shrimp ratio. The taste was good but as a personal taste, I would add a little more spices. Other than that the sauce was still good.

I've tried Essence! J'ai vraiment essaye!!! Twice I've been for lunch and twice I've been disappointed. And it isn't cheap either! Today I had the pizza with prosciutto and arugula. I think that is one of the most basic pizzas you can make. It's just a plain cheese pizza with meat and raw salad on top. Now the issues, where do I begin??? 1) there was zero sauce on my pizza... Ok, maybe a slight exaggeration but pretty close. There was enough cheese for the personal pizza but it was so dry 2) they burnt part of the crust. It could have come out a bit earlier because it absolutely cut up the top of my mouth!! My lunch date had the brevette of beef... It wasn't a great cut of meat. There were chewy parts and he had it medium rare... The fries that came with it seemed good and he enjoyed the started caesar since it was part of the host table. Some positives? Great outdoor section, roomy and for lunch, in the shade. Loved their hot oil. Wasn't crazy hot but packed a sweet punch.

The service was very good. Restaurant decor was pleasant. I ordered the lobster bisque. It was terrible. Earthy and strong in flavor like a crawfish bisque. The waiter said they put sweet potatoes in in it. WHAT the blank. On to the salmon, it was good but tiny in portion along with the glass of wine. So if you want small portions with a sizable price tag go to essence. With some Many options in Montreal I recommend move on.

The staff are very friendly and the terasse is nice. The food is fresh and tasty. The portions are just big enough, not heaped on plates.

Went on a Friday night. $15 to get in (Labor Day weekend). I didn't get man-handled from security, so that's always good. The DJ played the usual music you hear on urban radio, and Kompa (Haitian music), which I didn't expect. Nice little spot. And, the drinks weren't watered down.

Ate lunch there not long ago. The steak was well-executed, the drinks were good & complimented the meal. Prices were reasonable. Could have done with a little less fries than the mountain they gave me with the steak though, but would still go back there anytime
