My family and I booked a day-long excursion with this company to hike between El Popo and Iztaccíhuatl. It is a fantastic hike. We only hiked about 8-9 km, but got great views of both volcanos. The elevation of about 11,000 feet can be hard on some and it is a solid 2 hour drive from their offices.
Our guides/driver were lovely to talk to and we had a great bag lunch on a high saddle between the volcanos. After the hike they took us to a very nice outdoor restaurant and patiently explained all the menu options to us. The only negative was the horrible Mexico City traffic, but that is not their fault!

highly recommend 10/10! From the first to the end, Travesías provided awesome service , and even I am the only one who did the reservation, they still ran the activity for me without any problem. And during the day, I got many snacks, sandwich ,fruit and drinks in the backpack they prepared. Definitely, also included an amazing guide. Surprisingly, in the end, they brought us to a local Mexican restaurant on the way back to Mexico City and it’s a perfect ending for the gorgeous trip.

My wife and I visited Mexico City and asked Travesías Mexico to help us to organize the mountaineering part of the e trip. Arnulfo was very kind and helpful, he took us through the process of planning and preparing very efficiently. First we climbed Nevado de Toluca (4,680m). It’s a beautiful volcano with two spectacular lakes in the crater. Our guide Sergio was very professional and helpful. The next climb was Orizaba. The entire process of transportation/camping/food/etc. was organized like well oiled machine. Our guide Bernardo was our mom and dad through the entire process. His professionalism, kindness and patience were invaluable for the beginners like us. Travesías is a very solid choice for any mountaineering adventure around Mexico City.

Great experience, from the booking process with Arnulfo to Carlos the guide tailoring the hike to suit my personal preferences. 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting CDMX wanting to get out into nature and explore what Mexico has to offer!
