The location is great, but the bathrooms and toilets have a persistent odor that makes them difficult to use. This property appears to be a remodeled building now repurposed for rentals, and it seems the smell issue is a result of the building’s original design, which they haven’t been able to fix. I noticed similar complaints in other reviews after my visit. I wish I had known about this issue beforehand.

Be cautious with this place and the management (Alfonsia)! They can act very unprofessional and probably dangerous.

I booked it on Airbnb and stayed for just one night. There was a persistent bad smell in the bathroom, which I reported to the host during my stay but received no response. After mentioning this issue in my Airbnb review, the host retaliated with a negative review of me as a guest and denied the smell issue entirely.

Additionally, I had requested a discount due to it being a last-minute booking before I booked the place, which the host initially agreed to and applied the discount, but later used this as a point against me in the guest review section of the Airbnb. This unprofessional conduct and the misuse of the review system to discredit me prompts me to warn future guests. Be vigilant in your interactions with the host/owner of this property and make sure the bad smell is gone.

We are low maintenance travelers.  The service that they provided to us was truly outstanding.  I was admiring a stylized bench with beautiful stonework, a cup of coffee in my hand.  The person on that morning, grabbed a towel and wipe things down so I can enjoy my coffee on this beautiful bench.  Although no one on site seems to speak English, we worked it out between ourselves with translators and traditional travelers communication.  Really nice spot in the Polanco area.  All sorts of things to eat and see within a three-block radius of the hotel.
