Our group had dinner here last week our first night arriving in Mexico City. We love Spanish food and La Barra seem to be highly regarded so we made a reservation. The service was attentive and lovely, our server recommended a beautiful bottle of wine, but the food just did not live up to our expectations. I've had plenty of Spanish food in my life and I just found this to be quite average.

Fantastic place! The tapas are topnotch and the Rioja wine was great. My vegetarian friend also loved the patatas bravas. Our waiter was so nice and practiced his English with us while we practiced our Spanish with him. Genuine moments like this over food are what make Mexico City amazing. We were seated outside which could be a bit noisy but it was still cozy.

I was very disappointed with the food here. The service was great though and they have a nice selection of Spanish beers. The cheese and the jamón were okay but I was expecting better quality. The “ensaladilla rusa” had way too much mayo, I’ve had the dish many time so I know it has a lot of mayo but this was too much to have more than a couple spoonfuls of the dish. The “croquetas” we’re undercooked abs lacked flavor. The pork that we ordered as a main was lacking flavor and tasted like it had been unfrozen. I wouldn’t recommend this for Spanish food. There are definitely better Spanish restaurants in Mexico City.

Holy MOLY these were such delicious tapas, the best I’ve had in a long time - each dish was just scrumptious. We got loads of different things - shrimps in garlic, papas bravas, cheese plate, croquettes, roast chicken, it was all honestly just so delicious and rich. It ended up about $550 pesos per person including beers, so not the cheapest, but truly delicious and worth it. Would absolutely recommend, and cannot wait to go back and try more of the dishes.

Nice outdoor seating, very cozy ambience. Menu was somewhat varied: tapas, appetizers, main dishes (chicken, fish, meat). Drinks and cocktails were decently priced. Overall the menu was not very expensive for what you get. Loved the pork tapas, the broken eggs with chistorra, and the fideua, more than enough for a party of two. Good wine selection by the glass. Friendly and efficient staff. Everything was clean and sanitized. A good option for Spanish food in Polanco
