I love a cocktail bar where the server can really get into a conversation about the composition and flavor notes of a drink to help you make a better decision ordering. Limantour nails it. Scotch old-fashioned with a dusting of nutmeg is instantly one of my new favorites.

Great place, great food and cocktails. Loved the Girl who served us at the bar. Only negative as with all restaurants we’ve tried to book on NYE,  should make sure it’s is noted closed on Google maps, and OpenTable, instead of saying you’re open. We arrived on the 31st at our Tim if booking and found the restaurant closed!

We arrived and were seated promptly. But from start to finish, the servers had airs about them. Snooty? Yes. Uptight? Yes. Perhaps because we enjoyed ONLY one drink per person to end the evening. Perhaps because we didn’t order mediocre food because we just had dinner at Pujol. But the attitude of the servers was snooty at best. You should be grateful for all customers at your establishment. Please don’t be full of yourselves. Baltra had amazing drinks and friendly customer service. Go there.

We had an incredible experience at Limantour, all thanks to Eduardo’s outstanding service! From the moment we arrived, Eduardo made sure we were well taken care of, with his friendly and attentive approach making the evening truly memorable.

I’ve visited the Limantour location in Colonia Roma before, but this one had a much chiller vibe. We were seated right away, but unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. It took forever to be acknowledged by a waiter, and even after getting menus, it took another 10 minutes to actually place our order.

The experience took a downturn when our server—who seemed very focused on upselling—told us we had to order a food item because it was a “rule” of the area. This instantly soured our visit. While we’ve encountered this in other bars around Mexico City, it felt especially inappropriate at a bar that prides itself as a Top 50 Bar in the World. Being pressured into a “minimum consumption” by ordering overpriced, mediocre food just felt greedy and unprofessional.

There’s no actual law about being required to consume food with drinks in this context, so this was clearly a tactic to increase profits and tips. To make matters worse, not every customer seemed subjected to this policy, as we noticed other tables without food or snacks. It’s disappointing and frustrating to see a place resort to such measures.

Licorería Limantour used to be one of my favorite bars, but after this experience, where the service was mediocre and the “mandatory” food order was just a greedy tactic, I’ve lost a lot of respect for the establishment. There are plenty of other bars in Mexico City that pride themselves on great service and drinks without using these deceptive practices.
