Great museum, just be ready to walk a lot. We were there all day and we only saw everything on the first floor. Only about half of explanations are in English unfortunately but Google translate helped me enough. If you're a history buff and you appreciate Mexican culture, it's a must.

Guides cost too much and the free ones were busy. Honestly just walking around on your own is a great. They have an awesome restaurant on the premises that is worth the money to check out.

This museum has incredible variety, indoor and outdoor, and massive artifacts and entire rooms that transports us through history. When I went it was also free entry. Deserves more than 5 stars for all of the reasons above! Prepare around 5 hours if you want to see all of the rooms in detail

My toddler had a really great time seeing everything. Stroller friendly. Wish we could bring our water in. Came on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty crowded but I didn't wait more than 15 min. We enjoyed it as a family

My main complaints are that it's too big to see in one visit and they don't let you bring in water, but you walk a lot. I didn't see any water fountains either, but I needed it with all the walking. I spent 3 hours here and couldn't focus on anything anymore, I was hungry and thirsty, and still had 4 more rooms left to see.

The exhibits are nice, and some weave outdoors also, so don't leave your sunglasses/hat at the bag check. Bag/water bottle check is free.

Everything is in Spanish and some signs are in English. If you read all the Spanish signs, you'll be there forever. I recommend reading the main signs that have both languages, and then read only the descriptions of the pieces that you find most interesting.

Buy tickets at the white kiosks to the left (toward the bag check) if you can pay with card to avoid the wait at the manned ticket booths.

If you are a fan of archeology, anthropology, or even just really liked Indiana Jones or playing Tomb Raider, this museum is a must-see. It houses a mind-boggling collection of meso-american artifacts that are simply fascinating to behold.

Taking a tour might honestly be the best option to get a coherent overview of the big-ticket items. This is definitely a museum that will take multiple visits to digest. I spent 5 hours in the museum and barely saw half the displays. After reading diligently for the first 2.5 hours, I had only covered the Aztec and Olmec halls. The next 2.5 hours I walked from display to display to just SEE the artifacts. There is so much to take in, it is difficult to remember specific pieces other than by reviewing my photographs.
