Amazing resort!  Service is exceptional, friendly staff massages you feel at home.  Food has something for everyone and each meal was thoughtfully prepared.  Food was very healthy and flavorful, a feast for every meal!  One of the most amazing things about this resort is the way everything (Architecture, grounds, food, staff, and beach) with together in harmony.  An amazing experience all around, definitely recommend a visit!

And sustainability - 10 stars!
I was here for 7 nights for a yoga retreat. This place is incredible! The staff is so kind and committed to making the place what it is. The food nourishes the body and soul—healthy, delicious, and grown sustainably. I highly recommend visiting the permaculture farm that provides a lot of the food. You will learn so much about how farming can be done sustainably. I also got to release baby sea turtles into the ocean and have a massage on the beach, listening to the ocean waves. I could not recommend this place more highly. THANK YOU Playa Viva staff for renewing hope in my heart!

Playa Viva! A truly wonderful place and we certainly want to return. It exceeded our expectations and goes beyond a typical resort experience. A few noteworthy things to mention.  First, it is a safe and easy place to travel to.  We had no difficulties with transportation to and from the airport and always felt at ease. Second, the location is on a nearly secluded stretch of beach and ocean. It's gorgeous! Also, we experienced frequent whale sightings during the January we were there.  Third, it emphasizes simplicity along with respite from technology and the modern world,  all the while creating a completely comfortable environment.  All our comfort needs were easily met and we were glad to escape the mirage of "elegance" that you might find at a typical resort.  And the eco rooms, pretty cool!  They reminded me how exciting it is to be a human living with nature. Fourth, the food. Man, the food! Health conscious and nourishing while not sacrificing deliciousness.  Primarily organic, whole foods, not processed, and much of it from their farm. Fifth, meals are eaten community style, which creates friendships and a shared experience. I've never encountered that anywhere else.  Sixth, we specifically wanted to visit a place that was eco and community focused.  Playa Viva has a mission for regenerative and re-use practices.  Must do the farm tour to really see the mission at its fullest! And don't forget to wake up early to see the baby turtles released! Seven, awsome daily yoga with fantastic teachers.  In fact, if yoga is your thing then this is the place to be. Finally, the staff are lovely and amazing people who went above and beyond to make our experience great (we loved the surprise mariachi band!).  Thanks so much guys!

Everything was exceptional. Food was amazing. Staff were so gracious and helpful. Our room was incredible. They thought of everything, including black lights to see scorpions (we saw 3)! Highly recommend this beautiful place.

We have just left after spending 3 nights in Playa Viva, what a place. We came because of the reviews and were not disappointed. We had a warm welcome from Paulina and Kayla who were our hosts. They led some amazing morning yoga classes and made us feel welcome and relaxed during our stay. This is true to say of all of the staff also during our stay, Enriqué served great cocktails and the chefs cooked up many culinary delights. We especially enjoyed the fresh fish, home grown organic salads and Mexican breakfasts. We stayed in one of the treehouses and really enjoyed the ample space and peacefulness we had, especially our views at sunrise and sunset. The design of the buildings is beautiful, it feels like a place that is really cared for and your needs carefully considered.
